HelpNyx' Royal Congrats ▓▒░ Round 3 ░▒▓
OK – In order for me to be able to track a story across so many different setups, I will be referring to each child in numerical order (so Prince/ss1 would be your first child and Prince/ss2 would be your second child, etc. – I will be referring to all children as “he” unless everybody has a girl). I will also be providing two different storylines. If you have a Kingdom/Queendom, you will have one story line; and if you have an Empire, you will have a different story line (see below for descriptions of what the different social structures mean).
List of Social Systems:
Kingdom: Patriarchy, the father or eldest male is head of the household, has a system of government by males, titles are traced through the male line
Queendom: Matriarchy, the mother or eldest female is head of the household, has a system of government by females, titles are traced through the female line
Empire: Primogeniture, the eldest child of the sovereign succeeds to the throne, regardless of gender, and females enjoy the same right of succession/titles as males
Kingdom/Queendom: With such an easy first pregnancy, the Queen was shocked when she miscarried shortly after Prince/ss1’s first birthday. After another miscarriage, and another, the King and Queen began to worry over whether they would be able to produce other children. Normally, one child is plenty, but after your King/Queen inherited the throne, the Kingdom/Queendom feels the need to have a clear and stable succession available. Finally, however, the Queen became pregnant. How does the King and Queen handle this uncertain time? How does the Kingdom/Queendom feel about these difficult pregnancies? Do they want a new Queen/King? Would they like the Royal family to adopt a cousin so that they can have another heir in line for the throne?
Empire: After the illness followed directly by a difficult pregnancy, the physicians urged the Empress to abstain from pregnancies until her body had a chance to regain lost strength. Whether the Emperor/Empress liked this suggestion is up to you. However, because they already had an heir, they decided to follow it. How did the Empress go about making sure that she had no pregnancies? What were the Emperor’s and Empress’ feelings about this? When they were able to try for another child, did they have an easy time or difficult time getting pregnant (or was it a complete surprise!)? How does the Empire feel about the growing Royal family?

After two years, though, Fidelia was deemed strong enough to handle another pregnancy – and soon after, she was pregnant with Aloisia. Aloisia was soon followed by Rainer, their first son. After going through an illness and a pregnancy so close together, Tabitha was exhausted and drained. Her physicians advised her not to have another child for at least a few years. She and Gareth were a little disappointed but certainly had plenty to keep them busy. Prince Cal was a rambunctious little handful, and the planet was still experiencing some turmoil from the terrorists on world and from Abraxas abroad. Gareth wasn't certain how long he'd be able to hold off war.
Tabitha finally found herself pregnant again and was thrilled that the baby was a girl. Leonora Solandra Valentine was born on Valentine's Day and instantly had her father and big brother wrapped around her finger. She in turn adored both men, taking to toddling after them just as soon as she could walk.
Another two years later, Phineas Virgil George joined the family. Nora was very jealous of Phin but grew to grudgingly acknowledge his presence.

Stressful times have come upon Dunlin. Shortly after Crown Prince Frederick was born, there were rumors of unrest in Queen Catherine’s homeland, Kin. Queen Catherine’s cousin, Emperor Philippos Barnabas Augustin Severus Julian “Emperor Philip III” of Kin, soon wrote to her and Prince Christopher, beseeching their help. It seems as though there was a faction in Kin trying to overthrow the Queen’s Emperor-cousin and establish their own government.
Recognizing that, if these rebels succeeded, there was nothing to stop the Dunlish from doing something similar, Queen Catherine and Prince Christopher agreed to help their Kin kin.
Over the next 5 years, Prince Christopher traveled back and forth between Dunlin and Kin. Queen Catherine stayed in Dunlin. Unfortunately, the Queen and Prince Consort were trying for more children and, while able to conceive, the stress of her husband being gone (and possibly in danger) caused Queen Catherine to miscarry. Twice.
Finally, although the war in Kin raged on, Prince Christopher decided he was needed more at home in Dunlin. The Royal Couple were able to conceive and, nine months later, a beautiful baby girl was born. She was named Katherina, for Queen Catherine and her mother; Florentia, for Prince Christopher’s mother; and Phyllida, for Prince Christopher’s maternal grandmother.
Shortly after Princess Catherine’s first birthday, the Royal Couple conceived again. Nine months later, a healthy baby boy was born. He was named Theodoric, for Queen Katherine’s paternal grandfather; Philippos, for Queen Catherine’s Emperor-cousin; and Maximilian, for Prince Christopher’s paternal grandmother.
The Dunlish are happy in the births of two new Royals, but unhappy in the matter of the war.

Stressful times have come upon Dunlin. Shortly after Crown Prince Frederick was born, there were rumors of unrest in Queen Catherine’s homeland, Kin. Queen Catherine’s cousin, Emperor Philippos Barnabas Augustin Severus Julian “Emperor Philip III” of Kin, soon wrote to her and Prince Christopher, beseeching their help. It seems as though there was a faction in Kin trying to overthrow the Queen’s Emperor-cousin and establish their own government.
Recognizing that, if these rebels succeeded, there was nothing to stop the Dunlish from doing something similar, Queen Catherine and Prince Christopher agreed to help their Kin kin.
Over the next 5 years, Prince Christopher traveled back and forth between Dunlin and Kin. Queen Catherine stayed in Dunlin. Unfortunately, the Queen and Prince Consort were trying for more children and, while able to conceive, the stress of her husband being gone (and possibly in danger) caused Queen Catherine to miscarry. Twice.
Finally, although the war in Kin raged on, Prince Christopher decided he was needed more at home in Dunlin. The Royal Couple were able to conceive and, nine months later, a beautiful baby girl was born. She was named Katherina, for Queen Catherine and her mother; Florentia, for Prince Christopher’s mother; and Phyllida, for Prince Christopher’s maternal grandmother.
Shortly after Princess Catherine’s first birthday, the Royal Couple conceived again. Nine months later, a healthy baby boy was born. He was named Theodoric, for Queen Katherine’s paternal grandfather; Philippos, for Queen Catherine’s Emperor-cousin; and Maximilian, for Prince Christopher’s paternal grandmother.
The Dunlish are happy in the births of two new Royals, but unhappy in the matter of the war.

Five years after Sul'i'ah Zubia's birth, the High Priestess Asenath has given birth to two children and experienced miscarriage twice. The tribe of Thaeris was worried for their High Priestess' health, reminding each other that she had always been rather fragile since the poisoning that affected her household. Her Consort, Valen, has always kept watch over his wife and their two children with the utmost devotion, his heart having grown close to that of Asenath as time passed.
Just after Zubia's third birthday, a second Sul'i'ah, named Kiara, was born. Zubia was overjoyed with the presence of a sister, but more so when years passed and she received another sibling, the Sul'i'mi (Sul'i's son) Desmon. Desmon was, as his father before him, named after one of the Strangers - the people not of the surrounding tribes who had come to explore and visit the land. In Desmon's case, he was named after a Stranger who had come with three others in hiding to their tribe some time ago, a man named Desmond Miles.
Thaeris was still worried for their leader, but Asenath appeased them with promises of peace and prosperity from their goddess Sul'i. Still, deep within, Asenath and Valen knew that their own safety might be at stake in exchange of their tribe's.

After several miscarriages which took a great toll on Irene's health the couple had their second child, a Princess they names Sophie Wilhelmina Victoria, Sophie after her maternal grandmother, Duchess Sophie of Dorest, her two middle names in honour of her uncle's Prinz Wilhelm & Prinz Viktor.
Due to the strict Salic law under which the throne passed, young Princess Sophie couldn't inherit, leaving just Crown Prince Johan as the most closely related heir to the throne.
The royal couple had much pressure put on them to produce a "spare" to the heir. Heinrich asked his advisors if they knew of any circumstance if the throne had historically passed thru female lines, of which it was discovered that the Kaiser could adopt a male relative of the female line as long he wasnt directly in line to inherit another throne. Heinrich talked to his half-brothers and they suggested that if in the future an spare was failed to be produce he could adopt one of the grandsons of their deceased brother Kaiser Johan IV.
THe need for this solution was put on hold however when Irene announced she was pregnant again. To help reduce the risk of miscarriage she was confined to her quarters and had her physician and confessor with her at all times, so if she went into labour she was prepared both physically and spiritually.
Born a month premature the couple welcomed a new son, Prince Manuel Christian Elias Philip Magnus. They choose Manuel for its meaning, believing God was with them in producing the child, Christian after Irene's brother Prince Christian of Dorest who was Manuel's godfather, Elias after the biblical prophet Elijah, who had ended a drought with his words, Philip after Irene's confessor, Father Philip of the Carmelite Order and the traditional Magnus of the Salzwald family.

When news finally broke that the queen was once more expecting, all of Caladan was ecstatic. A healthy princess was born a few months later and christened Eleanore, though her father insists on calling her Nora.

(The court advisors had also not-so-subtly hinted that another son, in particular, would strengthen the standing of the Caladanean crown.) After Princess Gwynn was born, the doctors informed Emperor Finnian and Empress Mattie that having more children so soon could possibly be very dangerous, and that she needed to regain her lost strength.
It is said that Empress Mattie was somewhat upset, because she had always wanted a big family, and what if she didn't regain he strength?
However, they decided to follow the advice given to them.
To ensure that there were no surprise pregnancies, the Empress and the heir went to their castle in Serelia while the Emperor stayed in Labyrinth for the time being, visiting when he could.
When Empress Mattie has regained he strength, they decided to try for another hold right away. Sadly, they had some difficulty, and it was until Princess Gwynn turned 3, that a new royal princess was welcomed, Tru Victorine Blubelle Katharine.
The Royal family is more than thrilled when they welcome Prince Conrad Dustin Finnegan Malakai.
Emperor Finnian and Empress Mattie are very happy that their family is growing, is happy, and healthy.

After Princess Gwynn was born, the doctors informed Emperor Finnian and Empress Mattie that having more children so soon could possibly be very dangerous, and that she needed to regain her lost strength.
It is said that Empress Mattie was somewhat upset, because she had always wanted a big family, and what if she didn't regain he strength?
However, they decided to follow the advice given to them.
To ensure that there were no surprise pregnancies, the Empress and the heir went to their castle in Serelia while the Emperor stayed in Labyrinth for the time being, visiting when he could.
When Empress Mattie has regained he strength, they decided to try for another hold right away. Sadly, they had some difficulty, and it was until Princess Gwynn turned 3, that a new royal princess was welcomed, Tru Victorine Blubelle Katharine.
The Royal family is more than thrilled when they welcome Prince Conrad Dustin Finnegan Malakai.
Emperor Finnian and Empress Mattie are very happy that their family is growing, is happy, and healthy.

The pregnancy with crown prince Morgan was easy for the Queen, and the Royal Couple therefore thought that the next pregnancy would be just as easy. It turned out that they had wrong. The Queen had a three miscarriages. The first one wasn't too bad, after all it was normal to get a miscarriage. After the second one the Queen were more sad, but she and the King didn't gave up. However, the third miscarriage, was hard for the Royal Couple. The thought that maybe they couldn't get more children and that crown prince Morgan would be their only one. The Kingdom were starting to worry too. But then, the Queen got pregnant once again. She didn't have a miscarriages in the first weeks and the family started to hope once again. A couple of months later a small, but healthy, babya girl was born. The Kingdom were overjoyed with the baby, Princess Rosalie.
And soon enough another pregnancy followed. The royal couple knew that it would be a boy, so they weren't surprise at his birth. The new little prince got the name Valerian, and he is currently the whole kingdoms favorite baby boy.
The Kingdom are hoping for another Prince or two, and maybe another Princess. Because, after all, they all know how easily things could go wrong and then they wouldn't have a heir!

After months of recovery, Faustina was well again but was declared forever weakened by her pregnancy with Princess Adela. The physicians advised Emperor Hugo to abstain from having any more children with her and he unwillingly obliged. The number of children he fathered with his Empress was a safeguard for the royal family, Hugo’s lineage, and, most importantly, the land of Yarrow. This troubled him. “Let us wait, sire,” Faustina had counseled. “Let us wait a year or so to see how strong I will be.”
With the pressures of having heirs alleviated temporarily, Hugo and Faustina found that they enjoyed each other’s company greatly and a form of courtship began. Faustina had always thought Hugo chivalrous, noble, and always the gracious host but now she looked upon him more fondly. He was genuinely kind and doting to not only his family but his nation, too. Hugo found Faustina fascinating in her own right. When he first met her, she was mature for a 17 year old young Lady and he could tell she was quite ready to take on the duties of wife and ruler. She still held those qualities but now held something …. more. She was the mother to his daughter-heir and a woman he could see standing next to him during his rule as Emperor of Yarrow. In short, they were falling in love.
Two years later and to everyone’s surprise, including the happy couple, Hugo and Faustina announced her second pregnancy. Still weakened from Adela but fairing much better, Faustina delivered, once again, a healthy and strong daughter. “Ondene, after your mother,” Hugo told her when Faustina asked him for a name. Two years after Ondine’s birth, Faustina delivered a son with little to no complications. The physician’s believe that Faustina’s age affected her pregnancies and, like a fine wine, expect better and better offspring as the next few years go by.

After Prince Jacob was born, Queen Eve became pregnant and then miscarried. A few months later, she was pregnant again, and miscarried, again. While some of those employed in the castle knew, the miscarriages were by and large kept secret.
Finally, the Queen managed to keep a pregnancy, and when she was nearly six months along, the pregnancy was announced to the kingdom, and three months after, a princess was born. She was named Tirzah, after Griffin's mother, and given the middle name Illuminata, after Eve's mother.
A bit after Tirzah's first birthday, the queen was announced to be expecting again, and just before Tirzah turned two, Prince Kaz was born. He is Kazimir III, named after Griffin's uncle, and the previous king.
[I wouldn't mind having them adopt a cousin, but I can't fit the "oo maybe they'll adopt" into the storyline-- it would be a sudden thing].

Bram was slightly stunned when he was told the news. Not only had his King, Queen, and all five of their children passed away from the mysterious epidemic, but so had his mother, the King's younger sister. He was all of a sudden he was the one to inherit the throne of Melquior. The next thing he knew, he was being crowned and had advisors after him at all hours of the day and night. He was no where prepared for this. By the time he was born, the King and Queen already had 2 healthy children and there was no need to think that he might need to be trained to inherit the throne. His advisors badgered him about many different issues, and some he could see were plots to help out those nobles who suggested them.
However, there was one thing all of the advisors agreed upon, he needed to marry and provide heirs to give an image of stability to the Empire. After going over countless lists of eligible and connected females from within the Empire and without, and meeting many of them briefly, he chose his childhood sweetheart the Marchesa of Anburn. This proved to be very wise of him, as Zahara had a mind that was born to see through the political twists and turns of the court and Empire. And, as the two were rapidly falling in true love, Zahara found herself helping Bram more and more. With the rapid series of changes in the Empire recently, no one can tell what is around the corner. However, Bram and Zahara now seem ready to tackle the challenges ahead.

Just 4 weeks after Bram and Zahara were married, Amirah Zahara became mysteriously ill.
