HelpNyx' Royal Congrats ▓▒░ Round 1 ░▒▓
OK – In order for me to be able to track a story across so many different setups, I will be referring to each child in numerical order (so Prince/ss1 would be your first child and Prince/ss2 would be your second child, etc.). I will also be providing two different storylines. If you have a Kingdom/Queendom, you will have one story line; and if you have an Empire, you will have a different story line (see below for descriptions of what the different social structures mean).
List of Social Systems:
Kingdom: Patriarchy, the father or eldest male is head of the household, has a system of government by males, titles are traced through the male line
Queendom: Matriarchy, the mother or eldest female is head of the household, has a system of government by females, titles are traced through the female line
Empire: Primogeniture, the eldest child of the sovereign succeeds to the throne, regardless of gender, and females enjoy the same right of succession/titles as males
Kingdom/Queendom: Your King/Queen was just crowned, after an unlikely string of events led him/her to succession of the throne. Your King/Queen was very unprepared, as they were a long way down the line in terms of succession. What events led to your King/Queen being crowned? Being newly crowned, the King/Queen must choose a spouse to help provide an image of stability and continuance. Who do they choose?
Empire: Your King/etc. was just crowned after the previous Royal family (with 3 or more children) died. You are the oldest nephew/niece to the King/etc., and therefore you inherit the throne. How did this occur? As is customary, the King/etc. is being pressured to find a spouse. Who do they chose and why?
Rules: All names MUST come from the name banks for this round. FNs can use variations in origins (such as Guillermo instead of William), or respellings (such as Elisabeth instead of Elizabeth). Also, if you find a nickname in the name banks, you can chose to use this with a FN that is not in the namebanks (such as Euphemia “Effie” – The FN doesn’t necessarily have to be the original name that goes with the nickname though). NO changes are allowed to the MNs. Both Royals MUST have at least 2 MNs.
Round 2 will be up after the weekend.

William was the eldest son of the Caladanean king, Richard IV, but he was never in line to inherit the throne. This was because he was illegitimate, the result of a brief dalliance with one of the queen's ladies-in-waiting. At his birth, his father created him Duke of Pavogonia and made provisions for his upbringing and education, but it would be his half-brother Edward, seven years his junior, who stood to claim the crown. Behind him were two more half-brothers, George and Henry, so William gave nary a thought to ruling the kingdom someday.
Edward was eleven he came down with a mysterious illness that made him cough blood and left him paralyzed from the waist down. The court physicians were at a complete loss as to what it could be, and they still did not have an answer when Edward died two weeks later. The same thing happened shortly after George turned eleven, and suddenly the king had outlived two of his sons. Finally the doctors were able to diagnose the cause of the princes' untimely deaths: since William had displayed none of the symptoms in his youth, they concluded that the root of the sickness lay with the mother. Horrified, Richard could do nothing but wait until his youngest child joined his brothers in the ground.
Sure enough, Henry passed away a month after his eleventh birthday. By that time, Richard was old and infirm. In addition, the queen had just given birth to a stillborn daughter, which meant that the king did not even have the opportunity to extend the line of succession to females. With his political rivals salivating at the thought of the end of the House of Savoy, he quickly signed a law that legitimized William and recognized him as his heir.
Having been raised away from court, William was in no way prepared for what the kingship entailed. When Richard died, his ministers advised William to take a wife as soon as possible, preferably from a royal family in a neighboring kingdom, so as to project an image of strength to the Caladaneans. They suggested Princess Elisabeth, the eldest daughter of King Friedrich of Utland. Her father was a powerful military leader, and wealthy to boot; it would be a smart match. Still reeling from everything that had happened, William readily agreed.

Your King/etc. was just crowned after the previous Royal family (with 3 or more children) died. You are the oldest nephew/niece to the King/etc., and therefore you inherit the throne. How did this occur? As is customary, the King/etc. is being pressured to find a spouse. Who do they chose and why?
Before becoming the Malka, Avi was not even the nesicha (equivalent of princess), she was just the favorite niece of Melech Avram.
Avi's mother, the younger sister of the Melech, Nina the Nesicha, died several days after her birth, of complications. Her father, Amit Tal, a lowly trader, died several years later, after being attacked while traveling across foreign lands. Even though he died when she was seven, he hadn't spent much of that time with her, because of his job. Even so, Amit loved Elisheva very much, and Avi loved her father even more, if that was possible. After his death, rather than living in asmall cottage with her father's friend, Micha'el ben Aaron, and his three children (David, who was 13 and her best friend, Eve who was two years younger than her and Omer who was her age), her uncle Melech Avram decided that she ought to come live at the palace with him, his wife Ilana, and their seven children, Yonatan, Ethan, Miriam, Simon, Esther, Raphael, and Little Judith. At the time she had been seven, and her cousins were all older.
Yoni was 17, and the strongest.
Ethan was 16, and the smartest.
Miriam was 14, and the most caring.
Simon was 12, and the silliest.
Esther was 12, and the sweetest.
Raphael was eight, and the friendliest.

As oldest nephew to the emperor of Trillium, Gareth Calloway Isidore III was accustomed to living a truly charmed life. He was rich, famous, and powerful (not to mention handsome), but the young man didn't have even an ounce of the responsibilities heaped on his four cousins, who were all in line ahead of him to assume the throne after the emperor's demise. Gareth never expected for a moment that he would be called upon to govern his planet and spent most of his days drinking and partying his way through the capitol, constantly ending up in tabloids and police blotters alike.
All that came to a sudden, explosive end when the royal family perished in a terrorist bombing at a diplomatic dinner. Investigators suspected rebels from on-world, possibly financed by the nearby planet of Abraxas, which was constantly after Trillium's rich deposits of fuel and precious metals. An invasion seemed imminent. But Gareth had a hard time wrapping his head around anything but the fact that he was now expected to not only take over as head of the government, but also to get married.
In order to secure an alliance with the world of Lynam, Gareth's advisors arranged for him to marry the oldest daughter of the secretary of defense. Tabitha was... young. Just seventeen. And she seemed just as wary of the match as Gareth was, but both were repeatedly assured that it was their duty to wed and lead Trillium through its difficult time.
(I'm going for a kind of future/scifi thing. hope that works.)

First of all, thank you very much for letting me join in! I thought I was too late for it all. I had originally placed a question regarding the ages, but since you said it's allowed to be changed, I've edited it so that Asenath is only a year older than her husband.
Thaeris is a matriachal tribe, deep within the dark forests and amongst the wild animals. Their civilisation, built in a clearing in the midst of the rainforest, has always been a peaceful one. Ruled by a succession of High Priestesses, all serving to their goddess Sul'i, Thaeris has successfully evaded the tribal battles, starvation, and problems the surrounding tribes had.
But one day, the High Priestess Nofret was struck ill, along with many of her children who were to rule. The tribe was greatly shocked, more so when their High Priestess suddenly died, along with a good lot of her family. It seems that the house of Cra'don has been poisoned! Both Nofret, her husband, and their two daughters and one son died, leaving only the youngest daughter, Asenath, alive. The tribe knew that there has been a poisoning, and they were very thankful that Asenath survived, despite greatly weakened.
It was only a matter of time before young Asenath was presented to the goddess Sul'i's temple. Dressed in her mother's robes of white, and with the sceptre of Sul'i on her hand, Asenath entered the temple, and emerged again, ready to rule her tribe. However, she had her own fears; besides having lost all of her immediate family, she had never been prepared to rule. What's more, the tribe of Thaeris pressured her to marry a consort, to produce more daughters and keep the line of succession alive.
Reluctantly, Asenath went to find herself a husband. After a long and exhausting process, it was finally secured that the eldest son of a neighbouring (also matriachal) tribe was to be her Consort.

However, she had her own fears; besides having lost all of her immediate family, she had never been prepared to rule. What's more, the tribe of Thaeris pressured her to marry a consort, to produce more daughters and keep the line of succession alive.
Reluctantly, Asenath went to find herself a husband. After a long and exhausting process, it was finally secured that the eldest son of a neighbouring (also matriachal) tribe was to be her Consort.

When Johan died unexpectedly of a heart attack aged 43, young Heinrich had the throne thrust upon him without any preparation, althought he does have both Wilhelm & Viktor as advisors.
The first piece of advice he received from his older half brothers was to marry produce heirs, to help sure up the future succession which would bring stability to Kemberg.
Heinrich asked his brother Viktor to find him a suitable match. Viktor came up with two choices, Erzherzogin Natalia of Schonberg, Viktor niece by marriage or Princess Irene of Dorset, Heinrich 2nd cousin on his mother's side.
While a marriage to Natalia would have been more politically expedient given their countries close relationship, Heinrich fell head over heals in love with Irene and proposed at their first meeting, which she accepted without hesitating.
So the day after their marriage, Heinrich & Irene were officially installed was Kaiser & Kaiserin of Kemberg.

Quick question: do we follow the same story as the regular congrats? And can I change the ages of the king and queen, as I don't like having much of an age difference between my couples. I'd just like to lower the age of the man to about 18. Here's my Sign-up:

Kendall, who had had two sons, Winton and Griffin, had died a few years earlier, leaving elder son Winton was next in line. However, Win was a sailor and had gone on a journey shortly after his father had passed away and had not been heard from since. Leaving Griffin, fourth in line, to the throne.
Griffin was surprised, but quickly stepped up to the challenge. He was already engaged to Princess Eve, one of the younger Princesses from the nearby kingdom Tallo, and shortly after he was crowned, they married.

As a shock to all from Margaret's family, their Kingdom's favourite Princess, was chosen (from a portrait) to marry the new Emporer of their former enemies. It made much more sense for the kingdoms dear Margot, to marry their trading kingdoms eldest son Alexander, aged 45. Margaret however did not see this as a good match and found the mysterious Frederick's offer far more romantic. Having never seen him, she had heard of his reputation as an excellent soldier. Her father agreed to let her wed him, and not Alexander, after she wonderfully argued to him that their two Houses would never feud again. Her father agreed and consented for his dear Margot to meet with the Ambassador to marry the new King.
The new King delighted to see Margaret as beautiful as her picture. He had seen portraits of several Duchesses, Princesses and other noblewomen. He was glad of his choice as he and Margot shared the same sparkling wit. As they prepared for their marvelous wedding, he told her of his own tale, of how his Uncle had died at sea on a voyage, in hopes of settling new farming land for their starving nation. Margaret lamented and promised she would ask her own father if their union could promise a share in land for her new people, as her old Kingdom was far more wealthy. However she could promise little as elder brother was the next heir and bitterly disliked Margaret for her popularity. Frederick beamed and admired her compassion. His whole kingdom celebrated with joy at their new beautiful Empress and raised their glasses to happier days to come, wealth, and plenty of children for the strong and young Margaret and their dashing young King Frederick, whom they knew little of. They had always expected his cousins to take the throne. Frederick promises to exceed their expectations.

No heirs lived except for the young king, Hugo. Hugo was devastated by the sudden death of his uncle whom he had spent many hours with as a young page and many more into his adulthood. He had learned much from the Emperor and knew of the load that now his young shoulders would have to bear. He had never thought to be ruler of a kingdom (he was the youngest of his three brothers who all died of The Fits as well) let alone a strong and vast empire. He had gone from Duke to Crown Prince to King and then finally to Emperor in a matter of weeks.
Long before becoming King, Hugo had his sights on marrying a young noblewoman but after having the responsibilities of the empire thrust into his lap, his counsel members advised that he marry the young Archduchess Faustina of Legolat, a war-ravaged country with great ports for trade and commerce. “It would do well for the Empire, your Highness, to marry an heir of such advantageous harbors. Not to mention the expansion of the Empire’s borders.” Faustina was the only heir of Legolat and was in desperate need to strengthen her war-ravaged country. “We need peace and reconstruction and the young Emperor may be able to provide these things to us, to Legolat,” she had said when she was told of the death of Emperor Obadiah. The marriage would be a good political move for each nation: protection for Leglolat and expansion for Yarrow. Faustina traveled to the House of Cerise immediately after being heralded by Yarrow’s counsel members to meet this young emperor and secure a marriage with him. She arrived two days before the elaborate yet mournful coronation of young Hugo. The Emperor and Archduchess were married two weeks after Hugo’s coronation and that same day she was named Empress of Yarrow. All was well in the land and the advisors waited hungrily for an heir to bind the contract.

The throne was therefore inherited by the seventh princess’ only child, who, since her mother had married a foreign lord, had been brought up far away from Dunlin. The new Queen isn’t a stranger to Dunlin, but it certainly isn’t home.
Queen Catherine’s advisors immediately informed her that, as she’s so young and has lived in a foreign land for her entire life, the Dunlish people are unsure about her. They told her that it might do her some good to marry a local lord. In fact, her advisors had two or three in mind, already. Queen Catherine chose from this selection, picking a young man of gentle manner and easy smile, the Duke of Thornhall.
All parties agreed that the Queen taking her husband’s surname was not-quite-proper, since she was the one who had inherited the throne, not he; but, neither was the Duke taking his wife’s surname a proper thing to do. So, a compromise was struck between the two. The Duke suggested taking the surname Newbourne, as Queen Catherine’s mother had been named the Duchess of Newbourne when she’d been born. Queen Catherine agreed and, after a suitable period of mourning, Queen Catherine I and Prince Consort Christopher were married.

In the Kingdom of Yarrow
Edmund Grenville lived a carefree life in one of his father's estates, Palehaven Hall, far from the court life and the high society life in the city, when the shocking news reached him. Two week earlier hundreds of people had gathered in the castle for a huge banquet held every year, many of them were potential successors to the throne. Edmund had been invited but had to decline due to the harsh winter that made it impossible for him to get to the castle. Little did the people who attended the banquet know that one of the king's closest friends had planned a coup, a coup that was launched in the middle of the feast. Suddenly his group of armed men stormed the castle and the doors to the banquet hall were locked and every singel person was executed. The Bloodbath of Yarrow was a fact. However, the coup failed, three days later the king's army overpowered the group of rebels and because so many of the potential succesors were killed, Edmund unexpectedly found himself to be the heir to the throne of the kingdom.
The country was in shock and so was King Edmund. This was not what he wanted with his life. Being a king and all the power, rights and obligations that came with it was frightening and he was not prepared for the role. He's newly appointed advisor suggested that he'd marry a woman used to the court life, a woman that could support and guide him. The advisor also thought a royal wedding would be good for the kingdom. Instead of talking about the Bloodbath of Yarrow people would talk about the wedding. A handful of potential spouses were introduced to the king. King Edmund instantly knew that the young Wilhelmina, duchess of a small Franco-German kingdom, was the right one. Unlike the other girls she seemed self-confident, sophisticated and well-mannered in a way expected by a future queen. She was someone king Edmund believed could be supportive but also honest. Together they could build a new stable kingdom. Two months later they were wed.

An illness swept throught Suleriun, sometimes taking only one person in a family and sometimes taking the whole thing. Not one person was left unaffected by this illness, and the entire Kingdom was affected when the royal family died. The Queen, her King and their young four children all dead.
The new Queen, Antonia's mother and Queen Cassiopeia's twin sister, would have been crowned immediately following their three-month-old daughter's death but Princess Hermione lay on her death bed and nine days later she died as well. The oldest legitimate heir being Hermione's sole daughter. And so, since the teenager was shown not to be suffering from this illness, she was crowned the day after her Mother died, Antonia Helena Theodosia Dorothea of the royal house of Crescent, Queen of Suleriun.
After the three month period of mourning for the old royal family the royal advisors immediately started to pressure Antonia to marry. After much deliberation she chose one of her older brother's friends whom she was always close to. Toby accepted, he had always had a crush on Antonia and the two were quickly wed.

Prince Magnus was born as the third child and second son to King Theophilus and Queen Victoria. Their oldest son was Crown Prince Leopold, and their second child was Princess Susannah. Prince Magnus knew he would never be the King, and he didn't wanted too either. He wanted to live his calm life and now rule a whole Kingdom.
King Theophilus and Crown Prince Leopold were visiting a country far, far away. On their way home something got terribly wrong with the airplane. The airplane crashed and King Theophilus and his son died instantly.
The whole country were in grief, and suddenly Prince Magnus were the oldest male, which meant that he would be the new King. He was very unprepared for this and he didn't knew how to handle this new situation and on the same time handle the grief of his father and beloved brother.
He were crowned the new King. The girl he had been dating for a while, Lady Jane, were shocked about this whole situation too. Jane was very young, but they got engaged anyway and got married six months later. The Kingdom had a new King and Queen, but not everyone thought this was a good thing. The young couple are doing their best convincing the Kingdom that they will be great rulers.

Bram was slightly stunned when he was told the news. Not only had his King, Queen, and all five of their children passed away from the mysterious epidemic, but so had his mother, the King's younger sister. He was all of a sudden he was the one to inherit the throne of Melquior. The next thing he knew, he was being crowned and had advisors after him at all hours of the day and night. He was no where prepared for this. By the time he was born, the King and Queen already had 2 healthy children and there was no need to think that he might need to be trained to inherit the throne. His advisors badgered him about many different issues, and some he could see were plots to help out those nobles who suggested them.
However, there was one thing all of the advisors agreed upon, he needed to marry and provide heirs to give an image of stability to the Empire. After going over countless lists of eligible and connected females from within the Empire and without, and meeting many of them briefly, he chose his childhood sweetheart the Marchesa of Anburn. This proved to be very wise of him, as Zahara had a mind that was born to see through the political twists and turns of the court and Empire. And, as the two were rapidly falling in true love, Zahara found herself helping Bram more and more. With the rapid series of changes in the Empire recently, no one can tell what is around the corner. However, Bram and Zahara now seem ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
