It is 1915. Bob and Beth have not had any more children. Sadly, in 1914, their second daughter Laura May died of complications from pnuemonia and whooping cough. Victoria was devastated by the loss of her little sister and has still not gotten over her death. Bob and Beth also took Laura May's death hard, but they are trying to be strong for their children. Andrew was also very upset, but seems to have recovered and spends most of his time playing with the other neighborhood boys his age. Jamie was very confused about Laura May's death at first, but he has finally realized that she isn't coming back.

The last five years have been grueling for the Starks. With the Great War being a year old already, purse strings have gotten tighter. Mack still hasn't had the job opportunity to move to partner and he and the family are praying that he doesn't get called to duty. Will on the other hand is ready to fight for his country but still has at least 2 more years before he can enlist. Two children have passed, Laurie and little Leona Rose. Laurie's heart finally gave out on him and Leona didn't survive the night of her birth. Some say that the grief Josie suffered from loosing Laurie affected her pregnancy with Leona making both mother and child weak. But the Lord did bless them with two more children, Johnny & Meg.

The outbreak of WWI in 1914 has seen Robert Snr go off to war, leaving poor Meg to raise their 8 children, Rob, Alice, Beth, Henry, Will, Lily, Evie & Jack alone. Before Robert left, he and Meg decided that, should the war get really bad, London city would not be a safe place to be, so the whole family has moved to the countryside.
The country house has a fully stocked bomb shelter and Robert & Meg have thought ahead and tried to take all the precautions they could think of - including buying a motor car! Meg & the 4 eldest children have all been taught to drive the car so that someone can go for help if need be.

Jeffrey Daniel, Marcus Elliott, Sophie Alexis, and Cassandra Doreen Vitullo were born on October 17, and joined their six older siblings for a grand total of ten kids for John and Marie: John, Drew, Gracie, Patrick, Nicholas, Natalie, Jeffrey, Marcus, Sophie, and Cassie Vitullo.

Soon after Sophia's birth the family decided to move to Kansas, and start a farm there. The children were okay with the idea because they didn't really know anyone in the community. The Weschlers moved to the outskirts of Kansas City. While in Kansas City the family found out that Johan's great grandpa, Clayton Nicolas. Clay left the family a huge sum, $500 (an equivalent of $10,407.43 nowadays). The family put this money in savings for college, in case one of the boys wanted to go. Maggie is currently courting someone. His name is David Theodore Cohen and he lives a farm over.
