Erik just up and left a few days ago. We had no idea what was going on-- Johanna was asking for daddy and the twins were confused as to where he was. I certainly had no idea, so for a few days we were all in a state of confusion, and my mind was chaos.
And then he came back, driving a shiny new corvette. He said he had been a finalist in some sort of sweepstakes and had to travel across the country to compete in the final round of a thumb wrestling contest. He said he wasn't sure why he didn't tell me, but he came back with the car, and ESPN filmed his winning thumb-war match. I didn't know weather to believe him or not, but... ESPN did show the match, so I guess it was true!

A few years ago the Cooper Family awoke to a sound of a baby’s cries. A little boy had been left by a desperate mother. After caring for the little boy and alerting the police who then found the birth mother and started the road to an open adoption. The only one request of the birth mother was that his name has Elijah in it somewhere. Both Mari and Gabe had Elijah on their list for any future sons so this was perfect. Now, Mari is having quints. After the intial shock they decided to let fate handle the pregnancy. Mari was very restricted and the quints where born a couple months early and had problems at birth but all five are growing strong and now are relatively famous in their little home town. The quints have five distinct personalities and are thriving two year olds.

We've welcomed the newest addition to our family! Kate Madeleine Ward came into the world happy, healthy, and beautiful. Her big brother and sister absolutely adore her, particularly Sara who loves to watch her, hold her, and can't wait to play with her.
Recently, John came home from kindergarten and insisted that he wanted to change his name to Max, which happens to be the name of his best friend's brother. He explained that Max is a 'cool' name and that he no longer wanted to be John, or Johnny, as his sister, Sara, calls him. Needless to say, John seemed to be rather disappointed with the announcement, since he is named for him.

So, I told him the story that of when he was born, he was our surprise baby and that I knew he would grow up to be as handsome and as special as his father, and so, I named him John. He looked at me and said that he did want to be like Daddy, and so, John was a 'cooler' name than Max. In fact, he no longer wanted to be called Johnny - only John like Daddy. That'll take time, I think, though, since it does help to keep the names straight, and Sara seems to have quite the affinity for Johnny over John.

We've welcomed the newest addition to our family! Kate Madeleine Ward came into the world happy, healthy, and beautiful. Her big brother and sister absolutely adore her, particularly Sara who loves to watch her, hold her, and can't wait to play with her.
Recently, John came home from kindergarten and insisted that he wanted to change his name to Max, which happens to be the name of his best friend's brother. He explained that Max is a 'cool' name and that he no longer wanted to be John, or Johnny, as his sister, Sara, calls him. Needless to say, John seemed to be rather disappointed with the announcement, since he is named for him.

Wow. Triplets, it was quite the surprise. Felix and Isaac are identical and Eve is, obviously, fraternal. When the doctor told us we were having triplets after a checkup, we didn't believe her. It was just to astonishing. I mean, triplets. It was quite the surprise, and a good one.
