After two years of trying for another child with no success, Francisco and Julia decided that they were willing to try in vitro fertilization in order to add a new addition to their family. With nine eggs implanted into Julia, their doctor explained that there was a fairly high chance that the couple would conceive twins. Imagine their surprise 9 weeks later when they found out they were expecting SIX!
After several nights of crying, shock, surprise and worry, Francisco and Julia knew what was right for them. The doctor had suggested selective reduction, explaining that for each growing fetus, the risks multiplied severely. But after thinking it through, Julia and Francisco knew that they could never choose between the children they already felt were theirs.
After a stressful but relatively unproblematic sixteen weeks, Julia began bleeding. Terrified, Francisco rushed her to the hospital, leaving Eve and Judah with close family friends. Julia, it turned out, had lost one of the babies. The couple grieved for a few days but were relieved at the same time that their other babies were in steady condition and had a better chance of survival.
After 29 weeks, Julia was rushed to the hospital when labor set in. The doctors had hoped that keeping her on bedrest would've delayed the labor until at least 30 weeks, but the babies were already on their way. After an emergency C-Section and a staff of 80 doctors and nurses, the couple became the proud parents of three more boys and two more girls!
While Julia was recovering and the quintuplets were in NICU, Francisco transformed the family's guest bedroom into a nursery. Eve and Judah were overjoyed that they were big sister and big brother, and couldn't wait to meet the quints. Francisco helped them paint the palms of their hands, so that pretty soon the walls of the new nursery were decorated with the big siblings' handprints. After five weeks in NICU, the last of the quintuplets was allowed to come home. The worst was over, but Francisco and Julia were sure to have a lot ahead of them!

Reggie has lived in England all his life, along with the rest of his siblings; however, when his twin brother (Jake) decides to move to Italy, their parent's homeland. Reggie cannot contemplate life without his beloved brother, so he decides to move his whole family there. Valentina is less than thrilled; with three young children to look after, it's hardly the best situation when your husband decides to leave his job and survive on his somewhat mediocre savings, but seeing as the other option is him going alone, she complies.

The Sutton family was very excited when Emma Jade and Amy Louise were born. However, the family was taken aback when it was found that Amy was deaf. Maddie and John were shocked. They were very confused. But, they eventually came to the conclusion that they needed to do what was best for Amy. Now the family is currently going to a local school for the deaf and blind. They have enrolled Amy in the parent-infant program. Amy will be in this propram until she is three years old. When she is three she will start going to the school reguraly. The family is also taking sign language classes. John and Maddie will do whatever needs to be done in order to help Amy succeed in life.

Andy and Miriam were astonished to find that they were expecting twins again, and welcomed Toby and Lin soon after Winnie and Magda's fifth birthday. As a part of the older twins' birthday present (and in order to make more room in the house) the Powells were in the process of converting the basement into a playroom, however when they were halfway through there was torrential rain. Many of the nearby houses were flooded, and most of Winnie and Magda's friends had to leave their homes. Luckily the Powell house was on fairly high ground but even so, the high groundwater level by the end of the week meant that the normally bone dry basement was flooded 18 inches high. Andy went down to check on the new flooring he'd laid in there the previous day and got a nasty surprise. All the work of the last three months was ruined, but thankfully, the damage to the structure of the house was minor. The basement is still very damp from the flooding, but it is drying out, slowly but surely. The Powell's are very thankful that the damage wasn't worse; there are many people in their town who can't move back into their homes yet.

He has a lot of pent up anger and violence, but Wil also believes that he is ashamed of not being able to protect his siblings from his parents. Jonas is fourteen and very much like his older brother. He causes trouble almost wherever he goes. Wil and Bekah recently discovered that both Hugo and Jonas take drugs. They aren't sure how they got ahold of the drugs, but are working hard to get the boys to see that they are only hurting themselves. Katharine is the oldest girl--12. She is also very emotionally disturbed, and recently confessed that she has been burning and scratching herself. Bekah is happy that she is willing to get help, and she has been going to therapy with her younger brother and sister. Lara is 9, and she is very afraid of everything. She is very fascinated by both Eira and Amber. Bekah is trying to reach Lara through her young daughters. Nikolaus is the youngest, at 7. He is very quiet and subdued, and says hardly anything. VWD is usually hereditive and Michael and Rebecca have found out that Michael's mum and sister had it. When she was two we had a telephone call. Thr lady asked if we could take care of a one year old boy until they've found a permanent family for him. We accepted and the same day we met him. When we saw him we just knew that we wanted this little boy in our family for the rest of our lives. We didn't say anything then but a few days later when the lady called and asked us how everyhing was going and if we could have him in our family a little longer because they haven't found a family for him yet..then we told her that we could take him. She was overjoyed and promised to call us later that day.
She did, and she told us that he was ours if we just signed some papers which we did the following day.
So it took us three days from the first call until the papers were done and we had another little boy in our family!
