There's a lot of names on this list that I like/love. And even the ones I don't necessarily like, I don't find bad enough to get on a list of the worst names.

Here are my opinions
Penelope -I like it
Engrid (I assume Ingrid)-Its alright
Godfrey -kind of cool
Dick -not today
Sunshine -hippie name
Rainbow -ditto
Stormy -I secretly like this but I would never use it because we use to have a rabbit with this name
Candy -okay as a nickname for Candace
Destiny -its kind of pretty
Hope -its alright
Daisy -sounds like the name of a cow or goat
Princess -tacky-ness
Gaye -not okay anymore
Francis -its alright
Maude -its ugly but not terrible
Patunia (Petunia)-see above
Richard -boring but not terrible
Sheldon -ugly but not terrible
Simon -cool
Edgar -its alright
Beatrice -I like it
Ronald -its alright
Donald -see above
Frank -okay as a nickname for Francis
Bob -okay as a nickname for Robert
Kitty -okay as a nickname for Katherine
Gladys -ugly
Chastity -Its so pretty yet tacky at the ame time
Chance -Its alright
Burt -ugly
Earl -its alright
Esther -I like it
Daryl -okay
DeShawn -now this is a terrible name

I agree with Dick, for obvious reasons, Sunshine and Rainbow, which are so silly, LaToya, DeShawn, and Chastity.
But I really like names like Esther, Penelope, Barbara, Francis, Maud. I really don't see what's wrong with them.

Hmph, I like quite a lot of these! But I can see why people listed them as "bad". Most of them are widely seen as either dated or trashy. An Gaye and Dick are fairly obvious. These are the ones that caught my eye:

Beatrice - I liked this once, but it's become so faux-aristocratic, a little sister to Sebastian.

Francis - I like it; I just hate Frank like sin. I'd use it as a middle name.

Richard - I don't like Richard one bit. It's stale, and boring as hell. But it's hardly one of the worst names out there!

Earl - Yes, this is dreadful. It's never been used in Britain but my connotations are dated hillbilly. Brother to Cletus and Raelene.

Gladys - I have to steal Eilis's phrase here: to me, it is an irredeemably ugly name.

Penelope - stronly disagree - love this name
Engrid (I assume Ingrid) - disagree with Ingrid, some people just don't have taste. Unless it really is Engrid, then I have to agree.
Godfrey - while I don't think this quite qualifies as terrible, I don't think it's great.
Dick - There are unfortunate associations here. I would say it belongs on the list.
Sunshine - Agree strongly - this is a pet's name.
Rainbow - See Sunshine
Stormy - See Rainbow
Candy - Hmmmm. This is a legit nn for Candice, which is a cute name, but Candy as full name I'm not sure. It has some sexual associations. Still, don't know if it truely deserves to be labeled "terrible"
Destiny - Agree
Hope - Hmmm. I'm not a virtue name fan, but I wouldn't call this terrible. The only virtue names I truely hate are Charity and Chastity, but I avoid virtue names more so on principle and less so because I dislike the name's other merits.
Daisy - Don't love, but not terrible.
Princess - See Sunshine Rainbow and Stormy
Gaye - I work with a lady named Gaye. She's older, in her 60's and was born before Gay became commonly known slang for homosexual. She loves her name. The associations scare people, but it's not a bad name.

Mine worst names: Engrid, Sunshine, Rainbow, River, Stormy, Candy, Gaye, Destiny, Hope, Chastity, Chance, DeShawn, LaToya, Amber, Shiloh, Lyric, Summer.

Wow I really like some of those names, esp Kitty, Esther, Daisy, Conrad, Beatrice etc. Some are pretty bad, DeShawn, LaToya, Burt, Gladys. I like Ingrid and Petunia but Engrid and Patunia just look silly!
