The Not so easy partner congrats - Round 5
Rules for round 5:
The Not So Easy Partner Congrats just became a bit harder. I did warn you in the sign up round though that there might be some different naming rules. ;-)In this round each couple has gotten two initials, for example "DL or FA". You must use these initials to name your new kid (example David James or Fiona Anne). You may switch the letters around (ie James David or Anne Fiona) but you may NOT pick the two letters you like the most (creating DF or LA for example). Since I'm so evil in this round I'll make it up next round with multiples!

How fun! I think Ninor needs to be evil a little more often...So, we have another girl with the initials EO, OE, SV, or VS. I'll post the names starting with those letters from our mutual list. (Removing, of course, those we have previously used.)E - Elaine, Eliza
S - Saskia, Shiloh, Sofia, SoraSince we have no names starting with O or V between us, we will have to come up with some others whichever way we go. But first, I'll address the names that we already have:Elaine - I think this could work best as a middle name, though since I love it I'm open to using it as a first name as well.
Eliza - I like Eliza but it's similar to Elisabeth, which we've used as a middle name. Do we want to use something so similar again?
Saskia - Love it.
Shiloh - I've been liking this less, and it's already in GP territory for me. I probably like this the least out of all the names on our list.
Sofia - Love it.
Sora - I like it but it has a different feeling than our other names. The rest of our family has names that feel natural and earthy to me, and I don't get that at all from Sora.Out of these names, I like Elaine, Saskia, and Sofia the most, and would use any of them in a heartbeat. However, I might not want to use an "S" name as the first name since we already have Sarah Aisling and I don't really like using initial sounds. Especially since (with the exception of Shiloh), the final syllables of our S names all end with the same sound.

That really is evil, I like barely any O or V names at all. I don't mind Opal and Violet though, what do you think of those? As for your names, Orla - I don't like it, I'm sorry.
Vanamo - Interesting, I wouldn't rule it out.
Varda - It's not horrible but it sounds so much like a nn that I don't know if I can like it.
Veda - This one I like but it'd have to be a mn, I wouldn't want a daughter getting called Darth Vada her whole life.
Vellamo - Not bad.So that leaves us with Vanamo, Veda and Vellamo (none of which I'd use as a fn, sorry I'm just not a fan of "V" names). As well as Elaine, Eliza, Saskia, Shiloh, Sofia and Sora.I agree that Elaine would work best as a mn so it's basically out this round since we have no "O" names to go with it. I wouldn't have a problem with using Eliza, especially as we don't have a lot of choice this round. However, we still have no "O" names to go with it. Seeing as we have two kids in between Sarah and this little girl and we agree the best on the "S" names, I think we have to consider using an "S" name. Pretty much ruling Shiloh out since you like it the least, I like our other 3 names, though I always use Sofia in the mn slot cos I would hate someone to call her Sofie. So some more combos:Saskia Vellamo
Saskia Vanamo
Sora Vellamo
Sora Vanamo
---
Shiloh Vedaand if you like my suggestions:Violet Sofia
Violet Sora
Eliza OpalSorry partner, this is just a really hard round.
vote up1
Yep, this might be a little difficult ... especially since I would prefer using a V first name. But you bring up a good point that we agree most on S names.Darth Veda - heh. Never thought of that one before...I don't like Violet or Opal too much, sorry! I also think we should stay away from Sora because it sounds so similar to Sarah. I think I like Saskia Vellamo and Saskia Vanamo the best, but it's hard for me to choose between those two. I prefer Vanamo as a name but I think Saskia Vellamo looks and sounds better, so that one has a slight edge. Which of those two do you prefer?
vote up1
I agree that Sora and Sarah are a little too similar. I think I prefer Saskia Vanamo but I wouldn't mind at all if you preferred Saskia Vellamo. Can you think of any other options we have? I like Saskia Veda too except for the double -a ending.
vote up1
Hmm, I can't think of any other V names I really like. The ones I listed are pretty much it at the moment. And now I also feel like I prefer Saskia Vanamo a little more. I also like Saskia Veda quite a bit; while I'm normally opposed to names with the same ending being used in a combo, I'm fine with this one. The syllable difference helps and I do like the sound. So Saskia Veda and Saskia Vanamo are my top two picks now. Saskia Veda is alightly in the lead now because it matches the other siblings best, in my opinion. But I like both and either is fine with me.
vote up1
Sorry that I've been a pain this round, I hope you're still happy with what we've come up with. I'll let you pick between Saskia Veda and Saskia Vanamo, since you seem to like the Veda combo best, our family will probably be

I don't think we have any G or P names on our boys' list. A few I like... George/Georges, Patrick, Gordon, Peter, Paul.... There should be more, but I can't think of any. Lame brain. We're a little better off J- and A-wise. We have John, Joaquin, Abel, Alexey, and August. We could add some to the list, though! I am a little spaced out right now and can't think of any good weird names that'll fit in with our sibset, though. Oh, and I noticed all that DW and DDs have MNs that start with A, and that DH and DS have FNs that start with A. Is this theme worth keeping up? We would have a little AJ then.
vote up1
We could do Joaquin for the first name, it's actually the first name I thought when I saw it was a boy. For the middle name I don't think it matters, but obviously since JA is a pair it'll have to. For middle names, how about Alexander/Alexandre, Anton, Atticus, Aaron, Adam, August (like you said), Arnold..

I like Joaquin, but I think it flows better as a MN. How about Abel Joaquin
Alexey Joaquin (do you like the spelling Alexei? I rather do)

Benjamin
Benedict
Bennett

Brenton

I've never much liked names that start with Ben-, but Benedict is a lot better than most. I like the sound of Cassian Benedict. Brenton reminds me of Brendan, so it could probably grow on me. Maybe Conall Brenton? Also, would you be averse to spelling Conall as Connell? Every time I see Conall I feel inclined to pronounce it con-AHL, which is of course is completely incorrect. I could get used to the Conall spelling, though, if you prefer.
