As Basi approached his third birthing-day, Pippa decided that she was ready to have more children. She and Ten decided to not make a big deal out of it, as they didn't want the Kingdom speculating needlessly. As it was, Pippa got pregnant almost immediately after they started trying. However, she lost the baby before she had made it to the 3 month announcement. Luckily, she was able to once again get pregnant soon after, and this time she was able to carry to term.
Almost 7 months after Prince Basilio's 3rd birthing-day celebration, King Estienne and Queen Felipa were announcing to the people of Elsey the pregnancy of the HRH Queen Felipa. The celebration was almost as big as it was for Queen Felipa's first pregnancy. It turns out that the 3½ year wait had many of the Kingdom on edge and fearful that the good Queen couldn't have any more children.
This pregnancy was harder on Pippa than her first was. She found herself tired, and needing a nap in the middle of the day. She couldn't hold down any food, and felt nauseous whenever there was food or food smells around her. All in all, it was a miserable pregnancy. When Pippa went into labor at the end of her eighth month, the matron-priestess were sure that the child would be born sickly and small. They were surprised when two fairly healthy, albeit small, princesses were born.
The official announcement of birth would wait until the twin's were technically one month-old. This archaic tradition was to allow the infant time to thrive... or not. If a child did not survive his or her first month, it was treated the same as if the pregnancy did not go to term. During the first month, the mother and infants were in seclusion, and the mother was allowed this time to care for her infant and herself.
It was during this time that Royal Father Wulf had a talk with Ten and Pippa. He reminded them of the one and only civil war in Elsey.

Queen Mahaut had just passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband and 4 of her children. However, there were 5 remaining children, including the youngest - twins, Prince Geoffroi and Heir Apparent Prince Onfroi. Now Prince Onfroi wasn't exactly leadership material, but his brother was. Many of the Royal Advisors wanted Prince Onfroi on the throne because of how easy he was to manipulate. This made Prince Geoffroi angry, as he wanted to help guide his twin as a ruler. It wasn't long before some of the Royal Advisors started trying to arrange for Prince Geoffroi to be out of the way or even dead. Soon, the Royal Court was a war zone, and then the whole of Elsey was in civil war. The war lasted 7 years, and only ended when both Prince Geoffroi, Prince Onfroi, and even Princess Aalis were killed in a large fire.
At this point, Prince Estienne, now the youngest of the two remaining siblings, came out of the monastery he had been devoted to for the past 20 years of his life. With the help of his eldest sister, Princess Rohese, he brought peace back to Elsey. Within a matter of weeks, he was crowned King Estienne the Eighth (his son would rule after his as King Estienne the Ninth). It took the rest of his life to undo most of the damage done during the War of the Twins.

Ten and Pippa took this gentle reminder as it was intended. While they were thrilled with the birth of their daughters, they understood that the Kingdom wouldn't be at ease until there was a single-child-heir. Reluctantly, Pippa agreed to try to conceive as soon as her body was healthy and able. She would breastfeed the twins only for their first 4 months, and after that would hand them over to a wet nurse.
