Welcome to round two, everybody! If you didn't complete round one, be sure to do so here. It's linked below, so you can even complete that round's prompt if you so desire.
Prompt: The past two years have been peaceful, and recently there has been a great deal of excitement as new trade agreements has brought ships filled with new goods and new peoples to the kingdom. Amid this excitement even more has arisen, as another child has been added to the royal family. The people are in a general mood of happiness, but the ruler is not fully sharing in it. There have been disturbing rumors at the borders, and they are worried about war. How is s/he dealing with this new threat as well as a new baby? How is the first child acting with the second?

1. I won't drop anyone for missing rounds this game, but it will be fairly fast-paced, so keeping up is important. If you do miss, all previous rounds must be made up at the current round.

1521. Within the space of the years after Vanozza's birth, Romolo had lost two of his most valuable allies. His cousin and mentor, Lorenzino de' Medici, expired in 1519, a few weeks after Lucrezia and Vanozza's painting was comissioned, and 1521 their uncle Giovanni de' Medici - the Pope Leo X - breathed his final breath as well. Thus, when Lucrezia bare her first son later in the year, he became a triple namesake for the Medici family - Piero and Lorenzo, after Lorenzino and his father, and Giovanni, after the Pope. Lucrezia was willing to have the son honour her husband's family, but only if she could call the boy Perotto (it was a nickname for Pedro that she heard her mother mention in whispers once, but she did not remember who or why).
A few months after Perotto's birth, Romolo decided to name an exhibition in Urbino, to attract more "men of culture" while showcasing the marvels they themselves had managed to make. The exhibition was a great success - astrologers, alchemists, artists, architects, engineers, sculptors, musicians, acrobats, and all sorts of entertainment alike flooded the streets. Ball after ball were held all around town, culminating in an exclusive masquerade in the rebuild Palazzo Ducale. Romolo himself was more of a quiet, cold man, and not very interested in the festivities, which led many to speculate that the fair was the idea of his young wife Lucrezia. Whether or not it was her idea is unclear, but Lucrezia did serve as hostess for the masquerade, draped finely in Asian silk and jewels.
The festivities being done, Romolo and Lucrezia retired for their own little repast - a starkly simple dinner with their two children (well, it was more like a dinner with Romolo and Vanozza while Lucrezia tried to eat her food and nurse Perotto at the same time). Vanozza was very interested in the party, repeatedly asking about what happened and the like, while Perotto would only stare at his mother with his steely blue eyes. After a while Lucrezia could not help but laugh and demand that Perotto stop being so like his father, which earned her a giggle for her efforts (and a blushing Romolo on the side).

Elena and Jeremy were very happy to welcome a second healthy baby boy to their family. This pregnancy was a little tougher on Elena than the first, especially with all the talks of war with Canaan again. Jeremy did all he could to keep the Queen out of the matter, but she takes her duties as queen very seriously and attended meetings up until the doctor would not let her leave his sight.
The King and Queen are planning a trip to Canaan with their children, in an attempt to stop the rumors of war and so Jeremy's family can see the two boys. The trip has very good timing, for Jeremy's father's health is failing and it may be the one time that he gets to see his grandchildren before he passes away.

Katharina was named her her maternal grandmother, renown courtesan Catherine LaBelle, whose delicate features she has, much like her own mother. She is an inquisitive child, often found wondering into her father's armory or private chapel.
Margarethe while only a new born has the look of a Haasenbach, dark eyes, reddish hair and a pronounced nose. Margarethe was named for Alfons' only sister who had died earlier that year.
While the children are a joy for the family, war and rumours of war are always on the mind of Alfons. As a Duke of the realm, he is expected to not only fight in battle but fund his own regiments as well. Alfons has entrusted the running of the estate to his brother Count Ruprecht Haasenbach, a long time court offical and the most level headed of the Haasenbach brother's who wasn't a member of the clergy.
Alfons promoted his eldest brother, Georg, to be commandant of the Grenwald Dragoons, one of the Imperial Guards most well disciplined units and a position which provided Georg with a great income to support his ever expanding family.

In the last month or so Josie's elder sister Alexandria ran away from her abusive husband back home - he was a higher noble in southern Dokshaina - bringing her four girls with her. The birth of the Prince smoothed things over for the people though and there was a week-long celebration that both their Queen and Prince were alright. The pregnancy was hard for Josie. Although she was healthy enough before her body didn't cope well with the extra estrogen and she threw up near-constantly as a result, the physicians urged her to eat more since she kept losing weight but Josie would just be sick again so she didn't really see the point. The labour was also hard and, for a while, they didn't think that she or the baby would make it but, after 47 hours, Josie gave birth to a relatively healthy baby boy. Josie is still recovering but insists upon feeding her son herself, the Dokshainens believe that a Mother can provide for her children better than anyone, which the Thylosians find ridiculous.

This pregnancy was a bit better on Josie, her body has become better equipped to deal with the extra hormones but she still lost some weight and went through another extensive labour, 33 hours this time. But both Mother and Daughter are safe and healthy, which is all anyone had hoped for.

Trade has prospered since the birth of Lara and Dellorne is as rich as ever. The public rejoiced with Prince Alaric was born to the royal family. They were glad that a son had been born, since though Lara is set to inherit, some people of Dellorne still think that the son should have first claim to the throne.
Recently, rumors of unrest have been filtering into Dellorne. It is said that the exiled Duke Erik of Ronan is gathering support in neighboring kingdoms and that he plans to take the throne. Adelia is particularly disturbed by these rumors, as Erik was her brother (her marriage to Lucian helped cement peace after a rebellion) and she advocated for his banishment, rather then execution. While she is glad to have a son, she wishes that she would have only had daughters, as Erik would be more likely to spare a female heir than a male, if he was to attack the family. To him, the younger Prince Alaric would be more of a threat than the elder Princess Lara. Adelia hopes that her next child will be female.

He not only sent trade goods and envoys, but an array of gifts for the royal family, all costly and valuable and showing the wealth of the Shizue empire. Among the people he sent were warriors, acrobats, scribes, poets, musicians, and scholars.

They decided to name her Elena, Carolina after the capital city of Oroterra, Lucia for the small countryside town that Elena was born in when her parents were vacationing, and Giovanna after Antonio's brother.
