...the moon is "al-qamr"; I looked it up just to be absolutely sure there weren't any other listings under "moon", and I found nothing other than al-qamr and yahlum (which I have never heard before).What dialect do you speak?I looked up Sahar (with both a sin and a sad) and neither of them listed "moon" as a possible definition; however, Sahar with a sin did say that "Sahar" is "the time before dawn."*Edit*I was just thinking, perhaps "sahar" as "moon" is not said like the name Sahar; in Aramaic, we say "sara" (saw-raw, with a flipped r and even syllabic emphasis) for moon; it's not too far-fetched to think that it could be pronounced "sahra" in other regions. How would you pronounce Sahar if you were referring to the moon?
