This was my grandfather's middle name. It's the Yiddish form of Jacob. He was born in a small town in Poland called Mazoweicka I believe.

I think it is a Polish-Yiddish nameMaybe a form of Jakob/Jakov. As in Jakov Sverdlov (Jankel-Aaron Movsjevitj Solomon), a historical (not so nice) person in Russia."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

It is concidered rude to tack your request onto someone elses thread next time start your own
According to btn sister site the meaning of Peck is eitherPeck (1) English
Means "dweller by the peak". See Peak. Peck (2) English
Means "maker of pecks, or vessels used as peck measures" from the Middle English pekke.
