how would you say
Eireann is it anything close to Erin?

Eireann is the Irish word for Irish. It's close, but not exactly the same, since Erin is the English equivalent. The E is a bit different. It's more of an ay sound in it. I'm not sure how to explain it.

Both would sound similar, but on the last syllable there's more of an 'uhn' sound (air-RUHN) than an 'in' as in Erin (air-RIHN).
