Torreson
Hi Maeve, there's a Norwegian name Tørres, and a son of Tørres would be Tørreson or Tørresson.Tørres is a Norwegian form of the Old Norse name Torgils which means "Tor (Thor/Þór)", the god of thunder, and "arrow shaft".And there's a Norwegian name Tore, and a son of Tore would be Toreson or Toresson.Tore is a form of the Old Norse name Thorir/Þórir which means "Tor", the god of thunder, and "warrior".I haven't heard about the name Torre, but it sounds more like Tore than like Tørres..., but maybe your ancestors just changed the ø into o?Hope that helps...?Regards, Satu

That helps alot! Thanks! They probably changed when they came over or it just got misspelled. That confirms my hunch. Thanks again!
