What does my name mean?
Does anyone know what my name means. I am female. I have been told that it is Spanish for frog and it could also be a Persian name?

I believe the Spanish word for "frog" is "rana". In Esperanto, the word "rana" means "frog-like". Dunno if Rhauna might be a Persian name.Have you tried asking your mother what it means, or where she got the name from? After all, she was the one who named you -- wasn't she?-- Nanaea

Rana (rann-ah) is a Persian name of Arabic origin meaning "elegant". Nice name, but I might be inclined for the next few months to tell folks it's Spanish for "frog"...

Ever hear of......the name "Maldice", Nancy? Is it a real name? Andrea was asking about it on another message board. She said it's the name of one of the main characters in the movie *Never Been Kissed*, and the character claims her mother got the name from a Harlequin Romance novel.Doesn't "Maldice" mean "curses"? LOL!-- Nanaea
