Note on the (smelly) etymology of Orion
The etymology of Orion posted on BtN noted "meaning unknown". Here's an etymological approach I ran accross:King Hyrieus had once pleased Zeus , Poseidon , and Hermes . The Gods granted him a wish, and Hyrieus requested a powerful son. They decreed that he sacrifice a bull, and went on to pee on its hide. They buried the hide, and Earth (Gaia ) subsequently gave birth to Ourion, named thus after the divine urine ("ouro" in Greek) that generated them. The name eventually changed to Orion , probably through corruption. This account is cited in the wonderful (yet-to-be-translated-in-English) book *Dodekatheon* by Angelos Vlachos.
Also note that Urion is the 41,774th most popular surname in the United States :P
