Names that rose and dropped most on my PNL
I haven’t updated my PNL since February, but looking back on it I can see the names the rose and dropped the most since the last time I did it before that (August 2023). The ones that rose the most were:
Girls: Elodie (+6), Freya (+4), Alice (+4)
Unisex: Winter (+7), Red (+5)
Boys: Said (+13), Edward (+11)
The ones that dropped the most were:
Girls: Lillia (-10), Margot (-8)
Unisex: Kennedy (-18), Zephyr (-12)
Boys: Elijah (-16), Aled (-15), Isaac (-12)
What do you think of these? What names have risen and fallen most dramatically on your lists and do you know why?

Like/Love = Alice, Freya, Margot, Edward and Isaac.OK - Winter, Elijah, Elodie, ZephyrDislike = Kennedy, Red, Said, Aled, LilliaI used to like Lyra until it became more popular. I still like Oliver but maybe not as much as before due to its popularity. When you hear or see a name so much in your travels, they start to drop in my esteem.Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing you grade your names by number (eg. the more you like them, the lower the number?). I just have lists by alphabet (eg. favorite names by initial) and I keep rearranging my favorites. I'm curious to know how many names in total you have on your list?

Thank you for the response! Yes you’re right, I grade mine by number. I have three lists of my top thirties (girls, unisex and boys) which is how I’ve kept track of the names that have risen and fallen the most within them. Then I have a separate list of all my favourite names overall, ordered alphabetically and including girls, unisex, boys and surnames. This list has (if I counted correctly) 435 names on it! I’m very proud of it haha

Wait, how do you know the numbers like that?

Every time I redo my list I also rewrite my top thirty boys names, top thirty girls names and top thirty unisex names (I used to also do surnames but didn’t in my most recent redo). Then I compare my new top thirties with the top thirties I created the last time I updated my list, and colour code them by ‘new’ ‘risen’ ‘fallen’ and ‘stayed the same’. Then I write down by how many ranks the risen and fallen ones have changed by. It’s a very painstaking process which is why I only redo my lists every few months haha.
Hope this made sense!
