To me, it sounds really pretty, and cute but not too cute. I love the meaning(Boomerang)

Is there a reason so many people seem to hate it?

I like it. I think of Kylie Minogue rather than the Kardashian clan.

It's strident and grating. "Ky" is not a sound I find remotely pleasant.

I think this is because many names that are popular or "trendy" in real-life are not very well received on this site or vice versa. But I don't hate the name Kylie. Rather, I think Kylie is a pretty name.

I actually have always enjoyed the name Kylie! It's common among my age group, tbh. As a little boy, I also had a stuffed kangaroo that I named Kyleigh (the Leigh spelling was after my mom's middle name 👍🏻). Plus, the Minogue associate is wonderful!

I don’t dislike it. I just associate it with one person (Minogue not Jenner, because I’m Australian and old lol). So I wouldn’t use it.

I think because it's associated with trendy celebrities, but I think it's cute. I wouldn't use it, I still consider it a "trendy" name, but it's a lot better than other trendy names I can think of.
The similarity to Kyle might turn people off too, but the meaning of Kylie is cool.

I don't think either syllable is attractive at all. I also don't like the trendy -lee sound names.

I'm going to take an educated guess.

People dislike Kylie because it's been a trendy celebrity name for years. Older people would remember singer Kylie Minogue and for the younger generation, it's all Kardashian.

I think people don’t like it because it sounds “made up”. For what it’s worth I like it.
