Short or long middle names
Do you prefer longer middle names or shorter middle names or does it depend on the length of the first name?

Depends on the fn, but as an example, 4 out of 5 of my kids have long mns!

Depends on the first name, but I usually like shorter first names and longer middle names

It depends on the first name, also length of surname

I generally prefer a shorter first name with a longer middle name.
examples:
Scott Maximilian
David Leonidas
Jude Archelaus

My instinct with middle names is to use the names of friends and/or family members. Length isn't that important; some are longer than others, though I do consider flow. The important part is, which name or names will work better with the fn and ln.

It mostly depends on the length of the first name. For example, I like Ezra King because its short, each name has two syllables and it flows well.
Alexander might need a two syllable MN because it is long enough on its own - its just 3 syllables but it feels long to me for some reason. Maybe because it was a king's name? The last name also matters. Alexander Keaton might sound good as is, but what Alexander Jack Keaton, Alexander Sebastian Keaton? It feels like a mouth full. I don't have a conscious rule about making combos. I usually don't consider a LN. Unless, the OP brought it up.

How do you pronounce Alexander if it's got 3 syllables? I'm also very confused over the 2 syllable King?

One question
How does King have 2 syllables?

Emphasizing the G? (I don't know, I'm trying.)
