We have named our sons as Azhan and Ayan. We would like to know the Arabic meaning of both these names. We shall be grateful if correct pronunciations of these names could also be given.

I do not know Arabic, but in Bengali, the word Azan of Arabic origin means announcement: it is speciallized to the call to namaz issued from the mosques by the muazzin (announcer) every morning and evening. From what I hear, this call itself is considered worthy of respect by the muslim.
Ayan appears as a name in Bengali, but that is not considered of semitic origin. But during a previous discussions on this board, I checked that there is an Arabic or Persian (or maybe both) Ayan, but I never followed it up. (I vaguely remember that it had something to do with high or soul).
