Re: looking for help on YANIRA
in reply to a message by Pavlos
The name is not hebrew or arab or greek.
The name Yanira was invented by a very well known Cuban poet, writer, philosopher and revolutionary:
Professor Rafael Garcia-Barcena.
He had numerous prizes including national prize of poetry with the book Sed and of philosophy with the book Redescubrimiento de Dios
He had a daughter, born in May 1950. Before this date you will never, ever find the name Yanira anywhere
in the world. All the Yanira that you will find where always, without exception born after 1950.
He took the name from DeYanira in the Greek mythology and modified it to Yanira.
In May or June 1950 there was a note in Bohemia - a very well known magazine in Cuba, saying that a daughter
had been born to the Professor. From then on the name started to be used.
So, the name is Cuban!
I should know I'm the professor's daughter!
