Middle names for Kieran
Hi all, Just looking for some suggestions for a mn for Kieran. We may go with Allen, but not so sure. I will try to narrow it down. *No names like Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah etc. Most biblical names will be out. [DH doesn't like the 'sound' of them :-/]*Names that DH does not like - Mason, Malachi, Mekhi, Micah, Micaiah, Matteo, Joseph, Sebastian, Rhys, Troy, Isaac, Diego, Tristan... just to name a few. *I would prefer to have a name 1 or 2 syllables, at most 3, but not a long name, i.e. Christopher, Nathaniel. *No names that start with C, F, G, H, K, P, U, or W. I have a preference for M names. TIA* pronounced EH-vah =)

I think Kieran Allen Lewis sounds great, personally. I'm SO glad DH likes Kieran and has agreed to this spelling. :) I'm with you on Ciaran--I like the spelling, but most people in the U.S. would butcher it. :-/ I tried to go by your criteria and not repeat too many names other posters suggested. Here are a "few", hopefully you'll like some of them. :)Kieran Aldric
Kieran Alonzo
Kieran Asher (yes, it's Biblical, but not terribly well-known :b)

Malachy and Malachi are indeed pronounced differently, as you have them. I knew it was a long shot, but Malachy has such an Irish connection in my head, I thought your dh might like it better than Malachi.Yes, in English, Blaise is pronounced like "blaze." Once a year growing up the nuns would walk us over to church to get out throats blessed. It had something to do with St. Blaise. It never made any sense to me, but I do like the name. Also, Blaise Pascal, the French mathematician, comes to mind.In English, Ives and Ivo are pronounced with long the "i" sound. Think: as I was going to Saint Ives, I met a man with _____ wives.Alois is the German form of Alyosius. I assume it is pronounced, "ah-lo-EES," but that's a guess. By the way, Kieran /Ciaran is pronounced "KEER-ahn" not "KEER-in." Your responce to Kieran Andrew leads me to point this out. I wasn't sure if you knew.

About the prn of Kieran, I say -ahn, but DH says -in ;c) Also, I just found out that my cousin's fiance's full name is Andrew Christopher, I thought it was just Chris, so I don't want to use Andrew. Thanks!* pronounced EH-vah =)

Maybe you could consider two mns and one of them AllenKieran (Allen) Miles
Kieran (Allen) Marnix (a real name although it's not listed, it's used in the Netherlands (and I would have been named this if I were a boy :D))
Kieran (Allen) Marin
Kieran (Allen) Milan
Kieran (Allen) Marek
Kieran (Allen) Montague
Kieran (Allen) Marco
Kieran (Allen) Maric
Kieran (Allen) Maurice
Kieran (Allen) Matys
Kieran (Allen) Max
Kieran (Allen) Mitchell
Kieran (Allen) MorrisIf you want more suggestions with names that don't start with an M let me know. Btw have you decided on the spelling of Kieran yet? edit: I see these aren't listed: Maric is a variant of Marek and Matys is derevid from Matthias

After I told DH your suggestions, he said, "How about we try some without the M???" LOL. If you have any more that don't start with M, C, F, G, H, K, P, U, or W, I'd appreciate it. =) The only one he liked even a little was Kieran Miles but not really. Our last name is Lewis, so the two s's are a bit much. Morris and Maurice would be out because my 1st's mn is Morris ;c) We aren't going with 3 names with this one, so it's either Allen or another name, not both. So far I have him set on Kieran with this spelling. I doubt we will use Ciaran because in the states, a lot of people may say a soft C instead of a hard C. Thanks! * pronounced EH-vah =)

I pronounce it JOO-nee, that's not a guarantee it's supposed to be pronounced like that since I'm not Finnish. I just love that name pron. like that. I assume that it is actually a Y sound instead of a J, but I like the J better.

Wow, that narrows things down a bit. Kieran Michael - a nice combo, though Michael is technically a Biblical name
Kieran Andrew - whoops, 'nother Biblical name
Kieran Mark
Kieran Martin
Kieran Marcotte - it's a surname
Kieran Matthias
Kieran James

Kieran Michael - My second's mn is Miguel, so this name is out too.
Kieran Andrew - yes, but according to DH, it doesn't 'sound' biblical. Don't ask me what does or doesn't. I guess it's the -ah at the end of names. But he also dislikes Isaac.
Kieran Mark - Don't like this name
Kieran Martin - My cousins last name, so no
Kieran Marcotte - hmmm, not to keen on surnames as names, unless it's to honor someone in my family
Kieran Matthias - I like this name, but DH doesn't...another biblical 'sounding' name
Kieran James - I like this, but seems plain and also doesn't flow well with our name. Thanks for your suggestions!* pronounced EH-vah =)
