My name is Harlan Hobbs. I would assume as long as your "fame" was pointed out by a published source then this should count :) I recently found myself mentioned in an article entitled:"12 Famous Disabled People Who Prove That Being Disabled Is Anything But Limiting:"

Hobbs is a Los Angeles-based artist who builds structures, usually some sort of robot or creature, out of assorted junk. He’s constructed, among other things, a (non-functional) robot from old car parts lying around his front yard and a dinosaur-looking piece called “Cinemasaurus Rex” from discarded film reels. His latest piece, ‘Maus Man, ’ is a Transformers-esque behemoth that he timed for the release of the latest ‘Transformers’ film; judging from the photos, Hobbs’ creation looks much more impressive than the film itself. He’s paralyzed from the waist down. I am a artist who "creates art" in several different media. The 'Transformer' has moved on however he is being replaced with five new sculpts in my front yard:)

Even though I like it I think of the song "You'll never leave Harlan alive" whenever I hear this name. I like the song though. I recently watched a commentary about Harlan in Kentucky, it's beautiful there but not a great place to live with the crime and poverty. But then again Brooklyn isn't exactly the greatest place in the world and it's a super common name. I don't know if I'd name my child Harlan though, maybe I'd use it as a middle name. But definitely a great name.
Love it! I hope it continues to be unpopular, because I am gong to name my future son this, and I want him to be the only Harlan we know.
