From Spanish acracia, which stands for the doctrine that advocates the suppression of all authority, ultimately from the Ancient Greek words ἀκράτεια (akráteia, "no power") or ᾰ̓κρᾱσῐ́ᾱ (akrāsíā, "intemperance"). This name was used during the Second Spanish Republic by Anarchist parents who were eager to reject traditional religious names.
