Meaning & History

Form of Ashbel used some older English translations of the Old Testament, including the Tyndale Bible, the Bishops' Bible (1568) and the Douy-Rheims Bible.

Fictional bearers include Asbel from the movie Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Asbel Lhant, the protagonist of Tales of Graces. A known real life bearer is Asbel Kiprop, a Kenyan middle-distance runner and Olympics gold medallist.
