Also compare the very similar-looking Greek adjective ἔνοικος (enoikos) meaning "inhabitant", which is derived from the Greek verb ἐνοικέω (enoikeo) meaning "to dwell in", itself ultimately derived from the Greek noun οἶκος (oikos) meaning "house".
