Meaning & History

Means "establishing the chorus" or "leading the dance", derived from Greek ἵστημι (histemi) meaning "to stand, to set up" and‎ χορός (choros) meaning "dance" or "chorus, choir; band of singers and dancers". This was the name of a Greek lyric poet from the 7th century BC.
