Latinized form of Ἄβιβος (Abibos) or (Habibos), which is also found written as Ἄββιβος (Abbibos) or (Habbibos). It is a hellenization of the Hebrew name Aviv, and not of the Arabic name Habib, which most people would think at first glance.
