Meaning & History
Form of Sabrina used by Geoffrey of Monmouth in his 12th-century Historia Regum Britanniae. Alternatively, the name could be taken from the English word for a type of sword with a curved blade, which probably is ultimately from Hungarian szabla (14th century, later szablya) meaning literally "tool to cut with", from szabni "to cut". This name was used by Australian Olympic swimmer and YouTuber Justin Norris for his daughter born 2005.
