Meaning & History

From Egyptian twtw, derived from twt "image, picture, likeness". Tutu (or Tithoes in Greek) was an Egyptian god worshipped during the Late Period, associated with protection from demons and nightmares. It was also the name of an Egyptian official during the Eighteenth Dynasty, possibly named after the god.
