Sindarin form of AMBARTO. In Tolkien's Legendarium this is the most commonly used name of the sixth son of FËANOR and NERDANEL, also called PITYAFINWË. In some versions of the Legendarium Amrod dies at Losgar, but in the published collection 'The Silmarillion' he and his twin AMRAS die in the Third Kinslaying.
