In Greek mythology, this is the name of a king of Troezen, who is the (human) maternal grandfather of the demi-god Althepus.In real-life, a known bearer of this name was the Byzantine lexicographer and grammarian Oros of Alexandria (5th century AD), although it should be noted that in his case, his name is a variant transcription of HOROS.
