Probably a variant of IOULIA. However, this name could also be derived from Greek Ιούλη (Iouli), which is the genitive singular of Ιούλης (Ioulis), one of the Greek names for the month of JULY. The month ultimately derives its name from the ancient Roman family name Iulius (see JULIUS).
