Georgian form of the Persian name Šādmān (also Shādmān), of which the first element is derived from Middle Persian šād (also shād) meaning "happy, joyful" or from Middle Persian šādīh (also shādīh) meaning "happiness, joy". The second element is derived from Middle Persian mānag meaning "mind". As such, the meaning of this name is roughly "happy mind" or "joyful mind".
