Georgian form of Valerianus (see VALERIAN). This is an older name and it is fairly rare in Georgia nowadays; the shorter form Valerian is more common there.

A known bearer of this name is Valeriane Gaprindashvili (b. 1982), a Georgian chess grandmaster.
