Meaning & History
The meaning of this name is not entirely certain. It may have been derived from Greek τέλειος (teleios) meaning "perfect", which is ultimately derived from the Greek verb τελειόω (teleioo) meaning "to make perfect, to complete". Also compare Greek τελέω (teleo) meaning "to fulfill, to accomplish, to execute, to perform". Finally, another possibility is that the name is derived from Greek τῆλε (tele) meaning "far, from afar, far off". In Greek mythology, Teleus was a man from Argos, and the father of CLYMENUS.
