Meaning & History
From Egyptian mn-kꜣw-rꜥ meaning "eternal are the souls of Ra", derived from mn "to stay, remain; to be established, steadfast" combined with kꜣw, plural of ka "soul, life force", and the name of the god Ra. This was the name of an Egyptian pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty (c.2530 BCE) of the Old Kingdom, the son of Khafra and grandson of Khufu.
