Description: Although he was born in Belgium, he was raised in The Hague in The Netherlands and obtained Dutch citizenship in 1908. As such, he had always competed for The Netherlands at cycling events. At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, he was the winner of the men's sprint competition in track cycling.
