Doesn't sound English. Sounds very foreign, and unless the child truly has African roots, I wouldn't recommend you to use the name. Even if the parents, and thus the child, have a connection to the culture where this name comes from, I still wouldn't recommend it. It sounds harsh, and too much like 'Zulu'. I bet the kid would get some type of zoo jokes as well.
