Zaki

My dear mom Carol chose Zakee for my son in 1996. It means intelligent or quick-witted and smart, pure or virtuous. I hope my other comment went through. If not, here’s this shorter comment. My mother thought Zakee sounded Polish. My mom was Polish and Irish. God comfort her soul. My son’s name is Zakee Nagib. Nagib means noble and generous. This name is Arabic and Turkish. I love my Zakee. He’s an adult now, thank God. He just says his name is Zak. That’s probably because Zak is a cooler spelling than Zakee. I could’ve used Zacky but we got this name from a Muslim names book years ago and I kept that spelling.

Also means smart, pure and virtuous. My son’s middle name is Nagib like his Yemeni father’s first name. It is Arabic for noble or generous. My mother Carol who is Polish and Irish named my son after I gave her a book of Muslim names. I have been Muslim since 1991. She chose Zakee because it sounded Polish to her. I’m Polish, Irish and Puerto Rican. My daughter is half Turkish and my son is half Yemeni. Sometimes I have felt like the spelling of Zakee is not as cool as Zak or even Zacky, but that is the name I allowed and chose for my son-Zakee Nagib. He carries my last name Marcinkiewicz not his father’s last name. His father was not with me in the hospital when I had my dear son. It was sad but thank God he has still been in my son’s life all his life. I also have a daughter named Zara who is half Turkish. Thank God for my children.
