I really like this name because, before I think of Yoko Ono, I think of Yoko Kanno, who is a wonderful Japanese composer, and my personal idol in terms of music.
Who would want to name their kid after that horrible woman Yoko Ono, who used her hypnotic powers to entice poor, unsuspecting John Lennon into her filthy claws? That in and of itself is enough to strike this one off my baby naming list. Plus, this is the sound my cat makes when it is throwing up a hairball. "Yoko, Yoko, Yoko!" "Uh-oh, Felix just coughed up a furball! someone ought to clean that up!"Lastly, it sounds too much like Yolk, which reminds me of that icky yellow stuff that is a potential chicken. And you eat it for breakfast.

I thinks it a shame that this smart intellectual woman is forever branded because of him and it was obvious that John was always a hippy. Yoko was the only person that helped him accomplished that goal and fight for his dreams, so stop talking about her like that. It could happen to anybody.
That is a very mean thing to say. Some people have the name Yoko, and I bet no one's naming their kid that because of Yoko Ono. There have been many wonderful people named Yoko, and I think you should try to ignore the "bad" people who have this name and think of the good. I personally like this name, and I'm not Japanese. Just felt like I had to stand up for all the Yokos out there.
It's actually a nice name in my opinion, sweet. I would never name my child that though, 1) I am not Japanese 2) It's not my kind of name 3) It's one of the characters in "The Grudge" and she died a scary death.
