When I first saw this name, I misread it as 'Yessir', a contraction of 'Yes sir'. For this reason, I discourage use in English-speaking countries.

Makes me think of Yasser Arafat a tad too much. Even so, I wouldn't have like this name. Like Esther, Hester etc, though it is nicer than those names, it sounds dry and spitting, and reminds me of ugly old ladies.
