I personally love this name for males, I had never considered it to be used on females but I don't mind at all. I would definitely recommend this name. It's always a coincidence that almost all the people I've personally met with this name are very nice and have a great sense of humor.
Wesley is an alright name, and I'd use it were it not for Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wesley Crusher leaving such a bad taste in the Star Trek fandom's mouth.
Weslie is my name and I'm a girl. I love it! It's not rare but not too popular where I'd constantly run into people with the same name AND it's easy to pronounce. I find it a great name for both boy and girl. However, I hate when people pronounce it with a "z" instead of an "s". Also, strangers will think I said "Leslie" over the phone because they hear a girl's voice and assume they heard wrong. Still a beautiful name.

My mom wanted to name me this. I wouldn't be mad at all and I totally understand her wanting to put this gorgeous name on her little boy.
One of only 3 -ley names I know of that are still largely masculine in the present day. Bradley has largely fallen out of fashion, and the other one I know of is Audley, but no one really uses that name anymore.
Wesley is a very handsome name. I can’t stand most -ley names, but I love this one! I first heard it on Wesley Crusher from Star Trek. Wes is a very sweet nickname. Wesley ages well, I’d definitely use it.
This is my friend's name, I think it's quite nice :) I call him Wes, Ley, or Leyley. I wasn't a fan of it before, but it just grew on me. I think it's definitely one of those types of names.
I LOVE the name Wesley! It's so cute. And Wes is pretty cool too. Plus, Wesley Crusher is one of my favourite characters and I don't understand the hate for him.
I LOVE this name! I actually want to name my kid Xuesli (pronounced the same as Wesley, just unique).

My friend's name is Wesley J. He is the sweetest, kindest, and smartest person I know. He's very lovable and innocent. I can't bring myself to hate this name. It's so adorable that he hates when people call him Wes (I like calling him Wes anyway; such a great friend). He still has a mischievous streak, which has impressed this characteristic on me. I see Wesley as a slightly more devious name, but in an attractive way.

Trash name. Sounds like someone who would look like a rat.
Hard to separate from that little irritant Wesley Crusher.

OMG love the name- one of my favorite movies is the Princess Bride. I think that all nerds like me who have seen the Princess Bride should love it too.

It has a feminine sound to it, even though Wesley is a male name. I'm not a fan of this name.

My wife and I recently named our son Wesley, and we love the name. We’ve gotten all positive feedback from friends and strangers, and I think the nickname Wes is a cool, handsome name that will treat him well. Plus, it’s not very common but not unheard of.
A handsome masculine name which isn't overused, yet not unheard of. Someone said it's redneck? Maybe... hope this name won't be turned into one of those unisex names, many nice names with traditional meanings have become borderline androgynous because of this. I still would want to tell which gender the bearer belongs to when I look at a name, it's in fact quite an essential function of naming, don't you think?

I'm probably in the minority here but I have never been attracted to this name. I've tried to warm up to it but I just can't. I also don't like "Weston" I MUCH PREFER JUST WES! (:

I think this name is great for a boy. I adore the nickname Wes. It just sounds sexy to me.
This is my name! I love it, and always have. To me it feels strong and powerful, the name of a leader. Just to clarify to some of the people here though, if you like the name Wesley, but not the nickname Wes, that is just too bad. Despite the fact that I write my name Wesley and introduce myself as Wesley, I get called Wes much more often, and that is fine by me. One thing I love about my name is that I have met less than a dozen other people with it over the course of my 30+ years. There have been a handful of other boys with the name and two girls! I never considered the name for a girl before, but actually it is rather pretty and unusual. Oh, and The Princess Bride is probably the best movie ever made!

My name is Wesley (commented above) and I have never heard someone call me "Wez-lee". I have been called Westley or West before, which is rather annoying. There is no T in my name.

I love this name, and if I ever have a son I might name him Wesley. I've also noticed it can be spelled WESTLEY, and I like both versions.
Wesley is a great name that's been pretty steady in popularity over the years. I like that it's not common, but not unheard of. I also like the nickname Wes. If you're debating on whether or not to name your son Wesley, I say go for it!
I really like this name and its nickname Wes. Wish names like this were more common than crap like Ryan and Tyler.

This is my name, Wesley Ember- Marie even though I'm a girl. I was named after my dad and my grandpa. I love my name, I think I'm the only girl with this name since I've only met boys with the name. I would never ever legally change my name, I think its cute on a girl, but handsome on a guy.
Since "Wesley" is a character in Star Trek, I cannot bring myself to hate the name (/trekkie). However... I highly doubt that I would ever dub a child by it. The sound, and how it appears written to the eye, looks incredibly... childish? And perhaps even a bit "made-up." It simply seems like it would be chosen by parents to name their third son, in addition to Waylon and Colton (not my cup of tea).I will be honest when I say that I find it difficult imagining a successful businessman. Of course, it is not nearly as atrocious as some-- so I will not crush it completely. It has a bit of charm.
I've been in love with the name since I saw "The Princess Bride" when I was about six years old. My boyfriend's name is Wesley. It was the first time I'd ever heard it except for the movie. I hate the spelling Westley. It looks tacky to me. What I like about the name, is it would fit every stage of life. Adorable for a baby. Cute for a little boy. Sexy, Handsome, Manly. And even an old man named Wesley just seems like he would be a kind and funny grandpa :)) I love this!

I've loved this name ever since I heard it in "The Princess Bride", one of my favorite movies growing up. Granted, in the movie the character's name is spelled Westley, but I'm not a fan of the 't' in the middle. I much prefer Wesley. WES-lee and WEZ-lee are both good pronunciations, I'm still trying to figure out which one I like better.

This name kind of makes me think about rednecks and little boys from the 50s.
