Such a beautiful name! At first, I was hesitant to add it to my baby name list because of the association with Aloe Vera, but it's too classic and timeless not to add.
Pretty, classic, youthful, simple, elegant, and it seems usable in many languages too.

Simple but classy and mysterious. Also, when I hear this name, I think of the colour green (a good shade, of course).

I've always loved this name. It's feminine, strong and pleasantly timeless sounding. It reminds me of a mysterious girl that loves nature. This is my second choice if we have a daughter.
I think this name is so gorgeous and elegant. Would love to name a child Vera. I hope it doesn’t get too popular, though I do think it will rise in the charts soon.

Beautiful and delightfully old-fashioned. I like the VEH-ra pronunciation best.
What's wrong with a name being popular? And Vera is my favorite name. I like the precise sound of it.

Anybody commenting bad on this name is just hoping to keep the name for themselves. I don't blame them, it's so beautiful I hope it doesn't become extremely popular.

Vera may sound old-fashioned, but I think its meaning is sweet.
This is the name of my grandfather’s wife, so in essence my step grandmother? Regardless, part of me thinks this is a a very elegant and beautiful name. However, the other part of me feels like it might be slightly dated.

I've met a Swiss exchange student named Vera and she was the kindest! Fell in love with the name as soon as I heard it.
A nice name. I'm glad that a bunch of annoying hipsters haven't taken over this name and ruined it like Olivia, Isabella, etc. I' m almost afraid to leave this comment, because I don't want to jinx the name into being ruined by the idiot masses!

I do not like this name, nor do I like Veronica, Victoria, Veruca, and Valentina. I guess I just don't like V names (other than Vivianne).
I simply love the name Vera. I named my daughter Vera 9 years ago. I feel it is feminine, strong, stylish and elegant! She gets compliments on it all the time. I also love 4 letter names!
I have two impressions of the name "Vera." First, it reminds me of a musty old woman. Second, it makes me think of a female body-builder (Jim Carey, "In Living Color"). I would avoid this name.

Not my favorite but it's nice. I like the meaning too. To anyone who thinks this name is for old ladies, I just met a baby girl named Vera Kate! :P
I think Vera is a very beautiful name, but I can't shake the image of Jim Carrey in a bikini as "Vera" the Eastern European female body-builder on "In Living Color" in the early 90's. Nevertheless, I still think it's lovely and I don't think most people would make that connection.
I had a relative by this name. It is quite commonly used in Russia and other Eastern European countries and to me is one of the nicest feminine names anywhere.
