Such a beautiful name! At first, I was hesitant to add it to my baby name list because of the association with Aloe Vera, but it's too classic and timeless not to add.
Pretty, classic, youthful, simple, elegant, and it seems usable in many languages too.
Simple but classy and mysterious. Also, when I hear this name, I think of the colour green (a good shade, of course).
I've always loved this name. It's feminine, strong and pleasantly timeless sounding. It reminds me of a mysterious girl that loves nature. This is my second choice if we have a daughter.
Vera sounds modern and stylish to my ears. Full of veracity and life. Feminine name that's not too sweet but feels ultra classy.
I like this name! It’s simple and elegant.
Very cute. I love the way it looks. I’d match it up with Viola.
A beautiful name that's sure to make a comeback.
It's very sharp and sleek feeling.
I quite like this name, it’s very cute. I think the name Vera Lee just kinda rolls off your tongue.
A simple, beautiful Latinate name.
Cute and pretty.
Just a great name! Looks simple, but sounds strong, mature, very classic and vibrant at the same time! Vera is a wonderful name!
I think this name is so gorgeous and elegant. Would love to name a child Vera. I hope it doesn’t get too popular, though I do think it will rise in the charts soon.
Beautiful and delightfully old-fashioned. I like the VEH-ra pronunciation best.
Pretty.
What's wrong with a name being popular? And Vera is my favorite name. I like the precise sound of it.
Anybody commenting bad on this name is just hoping to keep the name for themselves. I don't blame them, it's so beautiful I hope it doesn't become extremely popular.
Old lady name.
Vera may sound old-fashioned, but I think its meaning is sweet.
This is the name of my grandfather’s wife, so in essence my step grandmother? Regardless, part of me thinks this is a a very elegant and beautiful name. However, the other part of me feels like it might be slightly dated.
I've met a Swiss exchange student named Vera and she was the kindest! Fell in love with the name as soon as I heard it.
Ugly horrible name, reminds me of veering off the road. I don t see how anyone can't hear the connection between "Vera" and "veering."
I love the name Vera. It's short, elegant, and ethereal. I like both pronunciations too.
A nice name. I'm glad that a bunch of annoying hipsters haven't taken over this name and ruined it like Olivia, Isabella, etc. I' m almost afraid to leave this comment, because I don't want to jinx the name into being ruined by the idiot masses!
I do not like this name, nor do I like Veronica, Victoria, Veruca, and Valentina. I guess I just don't like V names (other than Vivianne).
I simply love the name Vera. I named my daughter Vera 9 years ago. I feel it is feminine, strong, stylish and elegant! She gets compliments on it all the time. I also love 4 letter names!
This is a great vintage name! I like the "VEER-ə" pronunciation. :)
My sister's name is Vera. A somewhat dramatic name.
There's just something about Vera - I don't know what it is - but I love it.
Reminds me of the evil House of Anubis character, though.
Vera is such a pretty name, I love it!
I have two impressions of the name "Vera." First, it reminds me of a musty old woman. Second, it makes me think of a female body-builder (Jim Carey, "In Living Color").
I would avoid this name.
Not my favorite but it's nice. I like the meaning too. To anyone who thinks this name is for old ladies, I just met a baby girl named Vera Kate! :P
I think Vera is a very beautiful name, but I can't shake the image of Jim Carrey in a bikini as "Vera" the Eastern European female body-builder on "In Living Color" in the early 90's. Nevertheless, I still think it's lovely and I don't think most people would make that connection.
The name Vera has a smart, yet cute brevity.
I think Vera is a grand, beautiful name I would use. I'm very much into Letters that people don't use with names so much (V, E).
I had a relative by this name. It is quite commonly used in Russia and other Eastern European countries and to me is one of the nicest feminine names anywhere.
I like the name Vera as a nickname for Guinevere.
I love this name, and it always reminds me of the touching Pink Floyd song. It makes me think of something like a small ray of light in the dark.
My second name is Vera, but I wish it was my first! I absolutely love this name, it was my grandma's. She was from the Czech Republic.
It's so pretty. It reminds me of Vera Bradley purses XD. I also really like it in general.
I love this name as it is my Nana's name. I also like the version of the name that means summer. (:
For some reason I picture Vera as gothic.
