Trudy is cute, but not cutesy. Trudy is trendy, but not overused. Trudy is somehow formal and informal simultaneously. Trudy is nickname-y, but not too nickname-y. Trudy is a very, very nice name =)
Trudy is my name, not Getrude or anything else. All I know is my mother named me Trudy after a John Wayne movie which I cannot find. Trudy means noble warrior. My name is Trudy Nobles, I have fought many battles to free women, and I am now Trudy Light, or true delight, and it is really hard to say Trudy and I am the youngest Trudy I have ever met... still it is a good, honorable name and I am keeping it.
I love it! My parents were hippies and named me after the Charlie Daniels song Trudy. The only teasing I ever got was Trudy with the big booty. I have had problems with people being able to spell it or wanting to call me Truly or Gertrude.
The only Trudy I ever knew was not a very nice person. Unfortunately, that jinxes the name for me--because all I can see my mind is this very selfish, mean person who made other peoples' lives miserable.
My name is Trudy and I have always disliked the name. I used to get called Trudy the rudy nudey or tutti frutti oh rudy! At school so I think that added to my dislike of the name. I would rather have a common name than a name that is uncommon. I would rather blend in with my name than stand out. My middle name is Nicole and have always preferred that name but have never got around to changing my name simply because it would upset my parents if I was to change it. So if I have to be called Trudy, it must be by the full version. I cringe when I get called Truds or Trude or any other short combination of my name. If you are thinking of calling your child Trudy, have a think about it long and hard first and read everyone's comments. Being called Trudy isn't always that fun.
My name is Trudy and I love it. I always have. Yes, I have been called Trud, Trudeye, Trudence, Trudenski, Trudster, and Girt. I guess people like to give me many nicknames. I am a really cool aunt, and I try to be the best mother I can be. I like the fact that my name is not popular. I hardly ever meet another Trudy.
Admittedly, I'd never thought about this name before I saw Avatar. Now, I love it, because of Trudy Chacon. She defines the name. I love her cool, "I don't give a f**k about what you think" attitude and her free spirit. And her beautiful dark hair. I don't like Gertrude at all; it has always sounded very old-fashioned and obnoxious to me. But I love Trudy - it has a lot more energy and youth than Gertrude. The name itself sounds very sweet and kooky. It's not exotic or majestic, but it has this appeal. Even though it is a nickname, it doesn't sound overly girly or childish. I can totally see a doctor called Trudy, a businesswoman, a little girl, an aunt. Trudy would for sure be a cool aunt, who'd let you ride with her in her red sports car, and try on her all her jewelery and perfume.

I might like the name "Trudy" better if it weren't for a funny experience I had as a little kid. For some reason my friend thought the name was too difficult to pronounce, and kept saying "TURDY". So now, I laugh whenever I hear the name, which thankfully isn't too often.

I think it's a cute name that isn't used very often these days.
I like it mostly. However my brothers tease me about my name quite a lot. But I don't let it get to me that much. It flows very well with my middle name so it's all good.
I HATE IT! My name is Trudy and it is awful-it reminds me of beetroot-probably because I tend to get Gertrude a lot! I'm gona change my name!

I think it's a nasty name because it's my name and it's unusual. People call me all sorts of things from Gertrude to Trudence. I think it's unfair that people with the same name as me should be called other names that are not theirs.
