Torvald was my great-grandfather's name, my grandfather's name and is my name. It was not my father's name due to the fact that he was not from that side of the family. In South Dakota, United States there's a cemetery of my family's they have many Torvalds on gravestones. It's uncertain how far this tradition stretches back. The more I learn Norse history and the meaning of my name the more proud I am.

I guess it can sound like a brutal Viking, but to me this sounds more like the youngest child in a family who revels in that role.
