Obsessed with this name! It's so pretty, i say it over and over again and each time i like it even better. I like the nickname Theo. (Yes, for a girl!)
So beautiful and timeless. I love ‘old timey’ names. Some of them transfer well to modern times, and some don’t. Theodora absolutely does. It looks good written down. There’s ample possibilities for nicknames. It’s strong and delicate at the same time. Just love it!
I named my daughter Theadora and we have had so many compliments on it from strangers of all ages! We decided to spell it with an a to help differentiate from Theodore when the name is written down on paper, but we have still had quite a few people assume she is a boy. We also thought spelling it with an a would make more sense when using the nickname Thea but we actually use Teddie much more, it's such a cute nickname! My daughters middle name is Poppy and I think it compliments Theadora well, making it more feminine.
One of the few feminised names I love. Mostly I find them clunky, but Theodora (along with Gabriella) is lovely. She could be Theo, Thea, Teddy…I don’t love it quite as much as its male counterpart Theodore, but I still find it vintage and beautiful.
I love the name Theodora, it's beautiful, sophisticated, classy! It's unique & different. Such a great name if your looking for something upperclass & different but not too out there. I love the nickname Thea.
I named my daughter Theodora, so that we could call her Teddi as I absolutely love that name. She is 2 now and everyone calls her Teddi but the name Theodora grows on me all the time, it’s beautiful and historical, classy and feminine.
Sorry, it sounds pretentious and try-hard. I also don't love that it's a derivative, a masculine name, because that's something that only seems to go one way (Theodora, Georgina, Paulina, Stephanie, etc.) but I've never heard of any boys names that are derived from female names.

Beautiful and ancient. It is the name of a Roman Empress and has lots of nice nicknames.
Wow! Perfect name! So amazing, powerful and elegant! Sounds like a princess or queen name. The meaning "Gift of God" is so special to me! It's one of my options when I am having another girl. I am also obsessed with the nickname Teddy! I am from Brazil and Theodora is a very rare girl name here! Love it.
This is a serious, strong name! Maybe feels too much for a child, but people are getting older, so it should be good. Many nice nicknames also. Strong name!
Along with Bernadette this is my favorite name! It's very beautiful and since I don't want children of my own I'm quite pleased it's rising in popularity.

I hate all names that end in Dora.

I think Theodora is a very old fashioned name. I personally don’t like it. I think it sounds cocky and that it’s to obviously derived from Theodore.
Dated yet cute. It's way better than the names of Dorothy or Dora anyway.

A very feminine name, not too common, and would age nicely with the person. I honestly think this name sounds good for a grandmother or a young girl. It works for all ages.
I took this as my Confirmation name, in honor of my great-grandmother--so it's now my second middle name after Kathleen (my mom's name!) My great-grandma was one feisty, strong woman, and although I wish I could have known her much longer, we continue to find ways in which I am like her. So I was honored to take her name--which is very distinguished and old-fashioned (in a good way.) I do wish my parents had opted to name me after her, actually. I'd have definitely been the only Theodora in my school... possibly in the county. :p And I would have used Dory as a nickname (my great-grandma used Doris.) Ah, well! ^^
It reminds me of Alvin and the Chipmunks crossed with Dora the Explorer...?

I love this name, I think it sounds so theatrical, and overly superfluous, in a good way. Also, it has so many usable nicknames, such as Thea and Dora; of course, as the child gets older, you could use just Theodora, to sound more sensible, professional, serious and grown-up, as opposed to the more girly nicknames. So, yes, a brilliant and extremely usable name, definitely one to consider. :)
I absolutely love this name, and love the history behind it-- Empress Theodora was great. At the very least, this will wind up being one of my future child's middle name.
I love this name to death, especially due to the Empress Theodora.

My name is Theodora. I have been called Teddie or Theo all my life. Although many people think this is a pretty name, I have found it to be useless. Do not give your child a name that is so different or with a fancy different spelling. It is annoying and cumbersome. I am constantly being referred to as Mr. when I am a Ms. I was even assigned a "big brother" instead of a "big sister" when I was a college freshman. I guess that wasn't all bad but it did not last long when they got a look at me. Give your child a practical name, easy to pronounce and spell.
To the poster with the name Theodora, I am sorry that people assumed you were a guy because of your name. That is very sad and does not make sense to me since there is the feminine ending. I would still use this name in a heartbeat. I love this name.
This name is so totally awesome. I actually know TWO Theodoras, which is kinda like lightning striking the same place twice. One everyone calls Thea, and the others name is Theodora Mae, so everybody calls her Dora Mae.
