My name is Theo, and I absolutely love it! I think it sounds nice both as a shortened version of Theodore and by itself! Also nice for androgynous/non-binary/genderfluid people (since I am, and it works for me)! I do think it's a bit cuter and more wholesome than the rankings make it out to be, though.
My name is Theo and I'm not sure how I feel about it myself. Been told more than once that I have an ugly-ass name but I'm partial to it, maybe due to bias.
I LOVE this name! I wasn't so keen on it a few years ago until I met a lovely little boy with the name and ever since then, I've grown to love it. I'm pregnant and if I have a boy I'll be calling him Theo!
My name is Theo. I chose this name for myself when I began my transition, and it is NOT feminine. Just because it rhymes with a female name doesn't make it girly. John and Dawn rhyme, but John isn't 'girly'. My full name is Theo Benjamin Jay, and I love it!

Aaaalright, let's get down to it. Theo: pronounced THEE-o. I'm seeing A LOT of comments on here about how people think it's pronounced "TAY-o", but that's soooo incorrect! Get a life, guys, HONESTLY. By the way, ugly name. Boys shouldn't be named such a feminine name. It rhymes with Cleo.
Theo is a handsome name and I love it with the nickname Elliot. It goes well with multiple last names. I seriously am going to consider using it even though I am an atheist and using this name is basically naming my kid god. But most people don't look into definition as much anymore.
I prefer the pronunciation TAY-o, which is how I've typically heard it pronounced. It makes an ok name on its own, but as far as nicknames for Theodore I like Teddy :)

Theo sounds like a boys name to me! I've never known a girl called Theo! Fi-Fi or Thea is a girly spin on the name! My son is called Theo and I'd never dream of calling a girl Theo. Thea / Theo - very obvious which is a boyish name and which is girly.
Mommytotheo: you can pick and choose a name for your child but you can't decide the pronunciation. Where are you getting Fee-oh from?! There's no F sound involved with the name. You are obviously poorly mispronouncing the name or possibly have some sort of speech impairment, I reckon. Its Thee-O or at least Tay-o Wow...

Theo is much better than Theodore in my opinion, even as a standalone name.Anonymous user that replied to mummytoTheo: Fee sounds like Thee without the tongue touching the teeth.
I love the nickname Theo - for a girl. I think it makes an absolutely darling nickname for something like Theodora or Theodosia. It's got spunk and it's vintage, and I like the way it has an almost masculine feel but can still work on a girl. Then again, I like it on a boy as well, so that's that.
