My mom thought the name was pretty and decided she wanted to spell it differently. So I got the name Teri, and most people can't spell it correctly. Even my Mother-in-law spelled it wrong for the 1st four years.
My birth name is Teresa. I've always been called Teri as a nickname. I've never liked this name. But I will say that people perceive me as honest, studious, compassionate, dynamic and a leader (that's their comments :-). I'd love to change my name, but as I've tried out all other nicknames for Teresa on family and friends, no one liked those either. Here's a numerology first impression of this name: "Teri" is a name that reflects analytical powers and a quest for knowledge and information, a search for truth and wisdom. Makes one feel like one is in the company of greatness and unconventional intelligence. Inventive. Emotion takes a back seat to mental prowess. The name Teri inspires study and research, open-mindedness, daring new concepts, and a devotion to discovering the unknown. But the name Teri also gives a sense of philosophy and religious search. Here too, the path to seeking the meaning of the Divine is unconventional. Most positive characteristics: Intelligence, depth, spirituality. Always in search of knowledge."

Like the names Keri and Sheri, this name sounds quite cute as a nickname, and nice on little girls and teenagers, but not very mature or serious on adults.
