I’m called Tegan (pronounced tee-gun) and I have only ever met two other Tegans- one Teigan and one Teagan. I’ve always liked my name and have always gotten lots of compliments for it.

I prefer it for a girl, since it has strictly feminine roots and the word fair is usually used to describe females.

I pronounce my name Tee-gun and am female. (I was also born on the same date as Tegan Quinn, which was sort of neat to come across.) I've never personally met any other female Tegans, but 1 male Tegan and 1 male Teagan. I always thought that my name sounded very masculine and hated it for a really long time, but I also get a lot of compliments on it. If you give a girl this name, give her a reasonably pretty middle name that she can be called by if she hates it. My middle name is very pretty, but Alexandria is a bit too regal to have people call me by. I'd say you should give a boy a middle name he can use instead too, because they might find it too similar to Megan and feel that it's too girly.
My name is Tegan pronounced (Tea-gon), not a big pronunciation on the 'o'. I believe it is a Cornish name as my family are Cornish and wanted my name to be Cornish too. Also the name Tegan is said to mean many things such as 'pretty little thing', 'beautiful' and 'doe'. I am female but I do believe the name is unisex, personally I don't know anyone with this name also other than the group Tegan and sara.
I really like the name Tegan. I pronounce it TAY-gun. I think most people pronounce it TEE-gun. No matter how you say it, it sounds good! A cute name for a girl or boy.
I love this name! Most people find it too masculine, but I think it's completely feminine. The only thing I have trouble with is pronunciation. Is it TEG-an (rhymes with Megan) or TEE-gan (like Teagan)? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I think a Welsh speaker would say TEG-an, but I'm not 100% on that.
