I believe this name was used for the son in the Richard Harris movie, The Field. It was memorable so I wanted to find out more about it. If I remember correctly there was an old shoe advertisement called Buster Brown shoes. In the ad the boy had a dog named Teague (however it was pronounced Tie g). The boy (with the Buster Brown hair cut of course) would announce I'm Buster Brown and this is my dog Tieg. We live in a shoe---camera focuses on picture of boy and dog in the heel of a shoe. I was a very long time ago circa 1955 and this trivia about an unfamiliar name stayed with me.

The group leader in Theodore Sturgeon's short story The Golden Helix is called Teague. He is the one genius among the lot.
